Well, I’m sure a couple of you have heard that I write music -lyrics, as well- and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t mind just dumping them somewhere. Yay! And so, to the dismay of all of you, I’m making this thread so that I can slowly fill it with half a decade’s worth of lyrical content.
Yay.
I guess… I’ll start… at the start?
Eppiedate unknown
[Written at some point in the winter of ’08-’09 or spring ’09.]v1
Eppie’s a child of mine
One that I don’t know yet
She comes to my dreams at night
In places unset
She says that all will be fine
And to wait, yet, still yet
I see her leave my side
and the tears, loose, I let
pc
And she leaves me to wonder why
I don’t leave myself just to die
c
Where is my Eppie?
Where is my dream?
Where is the one who can bring back my gleam?
Where is my Eppie?
Lost in the streams
Is she as far away as she now seems?
Where is my Eppie
Where is my dream?
Where is my Eppie…
c2
Here is my Eppie
Lost here with me
Helping to find all of my lost dreams
Here is my Eppie
Guiding my feet
Helping me find the life that we might see
Here is my Eppie
Here is my dream
Here is my Eppie
Eppie
Notes:“Eppie” is a pivotal character in the classic novel
Silas Marner. This song makes more sense if one knows about said character. An instrumental for this song, recorded in January of 2012, can be heard on Soundcloud

The Traveler Feb 19 and 20, 2012
(back-story in spoiler)
[spoil]Written on the Greyhound buses and the metro train going to and from Kentucky to see Bride’s last concert. The opening lines were inspired by my words “Blood-stained hair. It’s just a natural dye”, which I said in response to my hitting my head on the toilet-paper-roll-holder in the bus’s lavatory. It bled into my hair, and… there you have it.
[/spoil] V1
Long, blood-stained hair
He hit his head, he doesn’t care
To him, it’s nothing more than natural dye
A long road ahead
He’s tired, he will not rest his head
He’s hoping that his bus gets there on time
C1
Oh, traveler, where have you been?
Have you seen the lies, the peace, and the sin?
Oh, traveler, where will you go?
Do you still dream of your home?
Oh, traveler, travel on
V2
Long, trailing strands
From the pack held in his hand
He hopes that it will hold out for one more day
A long, bony hand
Tapping tunes lost in the sands
Lost in the sands of time long since passed away
C1
V3
Long, weary days
On a bus, he hopes it pays
He’ll find out when he gets to the end of the line
A long-standing love
He thinks of home, he thinks of love
He prays she’s safe, he prays she’ll come around
He prays until the morn without a sound
C2
Oh, traveler, think not of home
For you still have a long ways to go
Oh, traveler, where will you play?
Will you sing when the sun breaks today?
Oh, traveler
Oh, traveler
Oh, traveler, travel on
V4
Long, boring waits
He calls friends to temp the fates
He knows at last he’s done, no more to roam
A long winding train
Traveling o’er the steel and stone
The last leg in his long, hard journey home
C3
Oh, traveler, can you see your home?
Break out your jacket, your tickets and comb
Oh, traveler are you home to stay?
Will we meet you tomorrow, like today?
Or, traveler… will you travel on?

I just found this scrawled on a piece of paper that I haven’t looked at in years. Dragon
written 3-28-11
Down by the river where the blood runs deep
Stands a man who is shaking in his iron-clad feet
Off in the distance you can see his squire
Slain underneath the great Dragon’s fire
In a stampede’s run all the peasants escape
Though no town will the Dragon leave in his wake
Only charred stubble will he leave behind
As he crawls through the carnage for the hero to find
I hold His sword high over my head
Though the Dragon’s eyes nearly fill me with dread
Level with me now, could you stand in my place
When I charge into the fray to fight him face-to-face?
I fight the Dragon down to the quick
For the sword I bear carries through thin and thick
Though the acid rain beats down on my chest
When I rise again, tell me, who will he best?
Not me…
Fight the dragon!
The winner-to-be
Not the dragon!
(Fight! Fight!)
See the hero, now, lost in a daze
While I stand with my feet atop the Dragon’s Blade
He can’t take it from me no matter how he may pull
Don’t let the dragon lay claim to your soul
We are the Heroes of our broken time
We are the ones the Dragon looks to find
When the heavens split and look to the ground
Then will the day of victory be found
’til then..
Fight the Dragon!
Defend…
Fight the Dragon!
(Fight! Fight!)

Wrote this one at work earlier today. (er, well, it’d be yesterday, I guess. Unless you’re Jewish.) “Everything”
Everything
People want your everything
Tell you not what’s right
Bluring the black and white
“If you think you need to know,
then you’ll find out at nine”
“Give us your everything”
Everything
Can’t you see that I want everything?
Everthing that isn’t there
From a world that knew to share
Corrupted by
The Prince of the Power of the Air
Oh, he wants your everything
Everything
You do not know everything
In this world where you do not
Go ahead and take a shot
At using all of the power you’ve got
You do not do everything
Tell me you do anything
Man… working this one out at the piano… ergh.. dangit! There are just too *many* chord progressions that work! Too many! Drgh! >_<;
