Well, now that that’s out of the way, here’s the FULL-colored & shaded pics of Tenchi, Ryoko, & Ayeka. When I did their base/flat colors, I had to look at EVERY piece of screenshot, fanart, and pic I could find as color reference for their casual and battle outfits. When looking at screenshots from both the first two OVAs and the 3rd OVA, I notice some colors were updated, like Ryoko’s green & orange “jacket” having a more greenish hue, than blackish like before. So I decided to base their color schemes on the updated 3rd OVA schemes, and maybe a little mix & match for some areas. Aykea’s battle outfit was tough to get right, as the pose demanded seeing what was one her back and feet, as well as seeing Mihoshi’s battel outfit up close from diffferent angles. So I had to rewatch and pause at certain parts of the OVA episodes that featured them and use that for reference as well. Tenchi’s battle outfit, while was blackish in the OVA, was also BLUE in a figurine I found online. So I went with blue for Tenchi’s outfit, and did my best to get them right and up to specs. As said, I did the full coloring with a basic cel-shade style, with certain key areas in bleedman-style shading to give them a more pop-out look and feel:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/th_TenchiGroupCASUAL1.jpg" /> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/CaptRicoSakara/th_TenchiGroupBATTLE1.jpg" /> AND just for laughs. I turn them into Kick-Ass posters:

I also noticed the “heart” on Sasami’s staff is off alingment, so if I ever decide to continue this project, I’ll have to change that:

The lineart is insanely detailed, I lovethe poses and the attention to detail on flow with hair and cloth. I know it’s all Game Hen stuff but I’d love to see a Kiyone done up in your style one day
kiyonesmile1 EDIT oh my god I would happen to post right as yours was going up wouldn’t I? Let me take a look at the colored art

Maybe someday, but for now, you’ll have to settle with a Kiyone Pony:

I certainly appreciate the gesture of upping the higher res art, but I am not a fan of ponys/pony art. That said, the colors on your sketches are as with your other art, excellently done. It’s a shame your project wasn’t able to be completed!

True, but I’ve have been thinking lately for redoing it with new poses. I’m not sure yet.

Epic Tenchi/Pony art -

I can’t believe I didn’t mention this eariler, but I found Petrea Burchard’s facebook page a few weeks ago, and messaged her my Tenchi art, including my Tenchi Ponies, and she loved them very much. Just thought I post these:
Reply 1 on the Tenchi Ponies pic:
Hi Christopher,Thanks so much! We had a wonderful time working on Tenchi Muyo. Never did we imagine it would become a classic. Maybe that’s why it turned out well. We were just working hard and having fun.
I’ve seen your crossover picture before, as many anime fans have posted and shared it. I hope they’re giving you credit for your work! It’s really good.
Thanks for writing. Petrea
I’ve of course replied to her first reply and hold her not to worry about the Pony pic being passed around, as long as my name stays on it.
blush1 I then sent her the 2010 pieces I did on Ryoko, Tenchi, and Ayeka, and she replied:
These are great, Christopher. I’ve seen a lot of fan art and these are really good.I know about the brony thing tangentially; someone was talking about it on Twitter and I figured it out. I haven’t been keeping up with pop culture too much lately! But if I understand it correctly it’s a male fanbase for My Pretty Pony, yes?
I don’t think I replied to that 2nd reply, so I’m going to right now.
Just thought I share these replies from her.

That was a really sweet reply she had.I loved the part where she says that they didn’t think about it becoming a classic and that they were just having a lot of fun. kiyonesmile1 That’s the only way to do something like anime, treat it as
fun!
