Halo 5: Guardians was just announced today along with Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One. 5 is supposed to have an “A new character”.

  This wasn’t completely unexpected but Microsoft chose a weird time to tip its hand. E3 needs those surprises too you know? Plus they announced it at 6AM EST which is just… one of the strangest times for an announcement like this.
  
  Rumors that the Master Chief Collection is also headed to PC via Steam at the same time even though it wasn’t part of the announcement. There’s been a space in the Steamworks backend for Halo 3 going on a year now.

  5 I really don’t care about unless they drag me back in with “the search for Cortana” or some such.
  
  Honestly I have no faith in 343 for a variety of reasons…
  
  Now that Halo Collection remastered…. dang it all… I really didn’t want to buy an Xbone… wth2
