Off topic a bit..but just started watching TM! OVA 3 again last night…I wanted to watch it subbed..my friends dubbed. I honestly think they just wanted to torture me. 😡

Yeah, that’s the one and only thing I hate about ISM:The fan-service promo pictures are just that–proportionally inaccurate fan-service representation of the characters. For cryin’ out loud, Wan didn’t HAVE DD-size hooters in the show, so why do they intentionally mess that up on the posters?

I mean, what if I LIKE them small? C’mon AIC!

It’s probably around the same time frame, if not older. One thing Kajishima did when he re-vamped Seikishi for production was to let others develop the final Geminar character designs, while he maintained design control over Kenshi.

Eh, it was a fun fact tucked in there as an extra. (ie, not directly in the OVAs themselves.) If I remember accurately, there is a time-bend in the lab where she normally worked before joining the swan. Because of this, she aged much more slowly than normal.

And really… ya got to admit, she acts more like the grandma from the Beverly Hillbillies than your average 15-year-old.

Yes, that previous post was of a doujin, but there was a Seikishi manga as well. 😉

Yeah, I just wish VIZ hadn’t given up on bringing Tenchi Manga stateside… maybe if we bug someone like Seven Seas, or Udon (I mean Udon did save Silent Mobius) we could get more Tenchi Manga stateside.

The Toradora novels haven’t been published in english, only the manga. The Spice and Wolf LNs are being released in english though, and I believe along with Haruhi those are the only ongoing LN series that are still being published in english.

I honestly wish it were that way here, call me old fashioned, but well…. READING IS FUN!!! Especially when your reading something you really enjoy. *stares at giant comic & manga collection*

Well we know Funimation is in the process of Dubbing it, weather they offer it to Toonami or weather Toonami will even want it, only time will tell. But yes considering they aired the original Tenchi Content i’d be surprised if they passed on this *I mean yeah they passed on GXP back in the day but considering their on [Adult Swim] now, I don’t think getting Sekishi would be too much of a problem…actually they could use being on AS as a chance to air GXP as well!*

But yeah I would say our best chance of seeing such happen would be to actually make your voice heard to [Adult Swim] & Funimation via their Facebook, Forums, Twitter, etc. We know at least the Toonami peeps are listening to the fans. *Funi however..well thats another story *

Well, the episodes were heavily edited after all. They probably just removed enough footage to get the episodes down to the proper length. I didn’t watch Tenchi on Toonami so some of this is speculation on my part, but based on what Toonami did to other shows: the OP was removed, the ED was either removed entirely or shortened, the next episode preview was probably removed (we’re almost 3-4 min. off the runtime already). They cut some lines out as well (and if need be, the lip movements when those lines were spoken) as well afew seconds of questionable or inappropriate footage here and there. They may also have shaved down on extraneous scenes too (like panning shots, scenery, etc.)

In the end all those tiny edits add up and bring down the runtime from 30 minutes to a more standard 22-25 minutes.

Nah, the long (45 min. originally) OVA episodes (7 & 13) ran long, then they padded out the rest of the hour with shorts and/or interstitials, and continued the regular programming from there.

Seikishi episodes can be split in half easily (there’s a mid-point break), and were split for the streaming re-runs (notice the right-hand column has 26 episodes listed).
