    This thread is for Sasami love ONLY. You can say why you love her, talk about her scenes in the anime, post pictures of her, ect. This thread is not for criticism, debates, or bashing. If you start causing trouble in this thread, you will be banned. First offense will get you a month long ban, second offense will result in a permanent ban.

      Ah, little Sasami. Everyones favorite chef before it was cool to be one on TV. Sasami is probably the most outwardly mature of the bunch, usually being the one who didn’t destroy something or blindly try to get Tenchi’s affection. Sasami is just a nice girl who loves Tenchi for who he is and doesn’t mind taking care of the group, almost like the mother of the group, despite being the youngest. Funny how she seemed to be more mature than her sister, but things change with age and hopefully we’ll see if her love towards Tenchi will grow stronger.

      Her culinary prowess is her main draw, and if I could find a pin with her on it I’d wear it to work every day. To give me the power and skill she possesses as a wizard of the kitchen.

      Here is a pic from 2011 and an old ass picture of me at my first ever ACen in 2008. Holy crap was I fat!

      This was Screen shotted on the Tenchi Movie 2 Daughter of Darkness (Mayuka and Tenchi)

      Sasami looks so cute on that scene lol I have it as a loggin screen haha, it makes me smile everytime I turn on computer = )

      This scene is when Tenchi is introducing Mayuka to the family and then Mayuka called tenchi “Daddy” and everyone in shocked! lol

      I remember there being one Sasami cosplayer at Otakon, but I’m really shy and couldn’t get myself to ask to take her picture. x.x Happens a lot. T’is why most of my convention photographs aren’t of cosplays unless they’re from the masquerade. Same thing with the random Tenchi in Tokyo Kiyone I saw at a convention a few years back. Ah well.

      Though I am more Miho/Kiyo, Washu and Ryoko oriented, I don’t mind Sasami. One of the most sane characters in the OVA, though so “young”. And… someone has to cook for them.

      Seriously I would love to see someone do a pic of Sasami with Sakura my two favorite Yokoyama Chisa

      roles. 🙂

      Re-read Sasami Stories yesterday.At the end of the manga they put the comics that Okuda did for the

      official Pioneer LDC Tenchi Fan Club Newsletter #10 had the rankings for that time:

      1.Sasami

      2.Mihoshi

      3.Ryo-Oh-Ki

      4.Aeka

      Funny thing is that even the guy at the Udon cart got ONE VOTE,Tenchi didn’t even get that! 😆 😮

      I know a lot of people hated Tenchi in Tokyo, and believe me I understand. But the one thing I liked, the one redeming thing it had, was Sasami relationship with Yugi. I liked the idea of Sasami having a friend that is a kid like her. All of the other Tenchi series all her friends are older than her (except for Tenchi sort of) I know she had friends her age in Pretty Sammy and those other Sasami magical shows.

      I wished Yugi was in one of those shows, granted a couple of them predated Tenchi in Tokyo, so she didn’t excist yet but still. Still I am all for putting her in non canon material like Kiyoni. Her relationship with Sasami remind Chibiusa and Hotaru in Sailor Moon S.

      How can anyone hate Sasami? :D

      I thought they ruined her design a bit in Tokyo with black pupils… But then again everyone’s design was altered in a not so good way.

      ANYHOW! I love Sasami because shes the type of pure character a show like this needs. When she cries you just want to hug her ;^; Oh and she’s very easy to write XD

      I used not care for Sasami, not that I hated her or anything but I wouldn’t care if she was in a episode or not but over the years shes grown on me and I do think shes pretty darn cute. :3

      Sasami she is the ani Chibiusa. The tooken little kid, only she is not annoying like most little kids in anime can be. Sasami along with a couple of others like Wendy Marvel is the exception.

      Sasami is a great character, in particular in the OVA’s in my opinion. Not only does she bring to life the concept of the dualism of spirits within one vessel, but brings in a childlike vibe and heart to the story without being annoying as was stated. Even in the Universe and Tokyo carnations of the story, she has a very interesting role as having an enigma about her. Seeing what Tenchi sees in the fight with Kagato in Universe, her bond with Yugi in Tokyo, it really hit it home for her character in all of them. Even in the infamous OVA3 when Tsunami appears during the Z incident the interesting “her will is also mine” is in a way what kept the destabalization of the universe from happening itself since she wouldn’t let anything happen to Tenchi. Even as Pretty Sammy she remained true to her character in the very core.

      I really love the way she’s overly mischievous in episode 2 of OVA 1.The whole prank she pulls on Tenchi

      to get him to go into Aeka’s cabin. 😆

      I have a feeling though that if we put Sasami in the same room with Sakura War’s Iris they might become

      friends as Iris is really the Sasami character in Sakura Wars.(Does that make Kohran Washu?)

      When I was standing in line for my Jad Saxton autograph at Otakon this summer, I stood next to a very nice guy who was a big fan of all things Sasami! He had probably the largest collection of Pretty Sammy, and Magical Girl’s Club materials I have ever seen (it was also the only Pretty Sammy, and Magical Girls Club collection I have ever seen so…. 😆 )! Anyway, we got talking and we both agreed that Sasami, more so than any of the other Tenchi girls, has seen the biggest drop in “popularity” in the larger anime community. Visually, as well as personality wise, she was EXTREMELY popular in the aftermath of Tenchi’s premier on Toonami in the early 00’s. If I were to engage in some social science for a moment, I would probably theorize that her drop in popularity is due to the aging of the anime community. As Tenchi fans grew up, they drifted away from the cute, bubbly Sasami and moved more towards the more adult characters. What do you guys think? All I know is that I like Sasami as a character, and I hope that she will never be forgotten as one of anime’s cutest and best developed young female characters.

      Shout out to the Sasami fan who was nice enough to talk Tenchi with me while we waited in line. If you’re out there, stay cool man!

      I think that Sasami is seen as being too much of the mascot character for the franchise along with Ryoohki.

      She also suffers from being in the shadow of her older sister Aeka a lot.
