And yet another icon from the 1960s is getting the big screen treatment. This time it is
The Man From UNCLE.The orginal series starred Robert Vaughn as Napoleon Solo and
David Maccullum as Iliya Kuryakin and featured Leo G. Carroll as their boss Mr.Waverly.
UNCLE stood for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. The recurring villain
was the rival organization THRUSH which stood for Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of
Undesirables. What made the series interesting is that in the Cold World era UNCLE was an
organization that employed agents from both sides.
There was also a short lived spin off called The Girl From UNCLEstarring Stefanie Powers
as UNCLE agent April Dancer and Noel Harrison as Mark Slate with Carroll revising his role as
Mr.Waverly.
