We have a thread for anime soundtracks, so I thought it was time we had one to showcase our favorite video game music too!

Please post some kind of identifying information about the music as well, such as the game title, track name, composer, etc. just in case its not obvious from the video itself.

I’ll kick things off with a personal favorite of mine:

The N64 version just barely edged out the Smash Bros Brawl version as my favorite rendition.

  Not usually one for this kind of music but something about PSO’s orchestral-electronica soundtrack really stuck with me through the years. One of my favorite tracks was from the first half of the final boss from Episode 2, ‘IDOLA’ have the Immortal Feather by Hideaki Kobayashi.

  Something was just so perfectly timed about the way the holographic elevator slowly lurched to life before the track began to kick in, glancing upwards to see this massive creature sailing downwards towards you as you were both in total freefall. I get a bit choked up remembering the first time my crew and I got to him and realizing how unprepared we truly were for that battle.

  The Champion Battle track from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal is one of my favorite battle themes of the entire series.

  Just finished my first playthrough of FF7 not too long ago, and hearing this song play just made the last fight so much more intense.

  Having been listening to his stuff for the last two days, I would have to agree. He even took my favorite of the Chrono Trigger themes, “World Revolution”, and made it more metal. butts1
