Okay I just found an opportunity for my first Anime convention. AND ITS ONLY AN HOUR DRIVE AWAY!!!! Its called Anime Southeast. Here’s the link.

So far they’ve confirmed such guests as Tiffany Grant (Evangelion), Todd Haberkorn (Baccano), and Lisa Ortiz (Slayers). Not to mention they have an AMV contest which I am seriously considering entering.

  Awesome dude! Sounds like a great group of guests in attendance (Tiffany Grant was at NebrasKon this year, she is so funny & nice) & Lisa Ortiz?! I’ve never met her, sounds amazing (buddy of mine would absolutely flip to get to meet her). If you’ve got one close by, I’d say you should really consider going, I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a con or not, but if it’s a good quality convention, it’s just about one of the funnest things you can do over a weekend (imho).
  
  An amv contest, you say? Your call of course, but dude you should totally enter! I love your amv’s, & if there’s anyone there that’s seen Tenchi Muyo, they’d be sure to love them too.
  
  Do be sure to read up on the rules if you do, sometimes they can be picky on minor details.

  Im just amazed that there’s a convention actually within easy driving distance. And yeah i’ve already looked through the rules for the contest. Pretty self explanatory, I am going to have to make something special though. Luckily I have till July to do just that.

  Hey i’m finally home from my first Anime Con ever. And it was AMAZING!!! I can’t wait to go back next year. There were a lot of people cosplaying as Miku and characters from Black Butler. And what’s more, I have pictures, it’s mostly of the stuff I bought but still.

  Wow awesome! Looks like you made quite a haul! What’s the Tenchi book you got there? AH! And you got to meet Tiffany Grant (she’s great isn’t she? loves the fans & going to cons) getting the autograph & pic with her is a-mazing!!! Sure am glad to hear you had fun dude and thanks for sharing with us!

  Yeah it was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately ML I did not meet any of the other va’s there. After Tiffany Grant’s Q&A panel Friday afternoon I found myself completely unable to think about anything other than Evangelion. And who, the fact that I found ANYTHING related to Tenchi was nothing short of surprising. I found the two Okuda manga’s and Fuku on the first day, and that poster thing or whatever it is at the Otaku Flea Market yesterday. And yes getting to meet Tiffany Grant was so awesome. She was very very cool. My two favortie panel’s I sat in on were her panel on Friday and the Evangelion panel yesterday afternoon. I hated that if was only an hour, we could have talked about EVA all day and that would have been fine with me.
