    This thread is for Washu love ONLY. You can say why you love her, talk about her scenes in the anime, post pictures of her, ect. This thread is not for criticism, debates, or bashing. If you start causing trouble in this thread, you will be banned. First offense will get you a month long ban, second offense will result in a permanent ban.

      My love affair with Washu really began with the scene where she took Tenchi to the wall and was trying to figure out the source of the Lighthawk wings. While heavily edited for TV I knew she was going to be a winner.

      My appreciation grew even more when I re-watched the series in 2008. I grew to understand her character even more, and in all honesty I felt bad for her. When I think about it, she had the ability to run away from adult problems and revert to a childish state, something many people would probably wish for. But she was more than that, she was probably the wackiest, the most perverse, and all around the cutest of the bunch. And holy damn her eyes <3

      Of course I didn’t think that in 2010 I’d run into her. Rather literally as a matter of fact. But I didn’t catch her name.

      Then I got another chance… which I promptly blew.

      But as it stands now… we’re kind of apart in many ways. Yeah it’s hard on me but I say this because after ACen 2010, my view on Washu changed. Sure she’s still my favorite character, but now a days I can say I look at her a bit differently.

      She’s still “my waifu” though, and the inspiration for my user name. To Washu <3

      Washu is my favorite girl after Aeka, Sasami and Mihoshi. IMO, she is the saddest character in the OVA (the episode 8 make me cry) and the only character I really enjoy in Tenchi Universe with Mirei and Nagi. Howerer, I don’t like she become a genocidal maniac like when she destoy a city in the last episode. WTF ?!? 👿

      Yeah, I’d marry the 20,000-year-old girl in a heartbeat if she were real. The funny thing is, I’m not planning to have that happen in the fanfiction book-et I’m writing. (Though it is mainly about Washuu and me.)

      Probably REALLY stupid question here, but where the heck did THIS happen?!

      I know this pic has been around forever but I don’t remember seeing it in any of the anime’s/movies. Anyone got the inside scoop??

      I don’t know why she would ever need a gun, but I can tell you one thing. That picture looks freakin’ lovely. I remember there being a crossover between Tenchi and Dual or something, but I haven’t actually seen it beyond a cloudy picture or two, so I’m not sure if it even has the same animation and art style that would fit this…

      Okay, I actually just looked around about it. It’s not so much an actual crossover as it is just a cameo appearance from Kiyone, Ramia, and Misao Amano in episode 14 of Dual, and one of the mecha from Dual in GXP.

      As far as the Washu pic, I have no real leads, Most likely it was from one of the old AIC artbooks and done in a setting like Dual or one of MK’s other shows, but I’m pretty much lost after that.

      Washu is maybe my third favourite character, after Mihoshi and Kiyone of course. I don’t always have words for her awesomeness… but she also has some of the funniest dialogue in the series’. K.T. Vogt is the only one who can do her English voice… sorry whoever did it in that crap Sasami Magical Girls Club.

      I once badly cosplayed Washu at a convention :D (Not at Aya or Otakon, way back).

      Since it was technically my first cosplay, I look back at it and shudder but someday I will do it properly.

      Washu has only recently become my favorite character. It used to be Ryoko, hands down, when I was a child, but now that I’m old enough to know how tragic her backstory is, it made me come around and respect her more, making her my favorite character.

      That, and her crazy shenanigans are always a good laugh, ‘specially when A and B are going along for the ride too. >xD

      Considering most characters in Tenchi (exception being Kiyone) have hair that defies gravity or is downright outrageous, I can certainly agree with this.

      Washu has a blend of being a super genius yet still having an incredibly goofy side & a sense of humor. She also manages not to talk down to anyone/be a snob about it, knowing full-well she’s more knowledgeable in scientific–& arguably most other–matters than the rest of the group, while at the same time (especially in Universe) never allows anyone to forget that she is “the greatest scientific genius in the universe!” (two little ‘ego booster’ robots on either shoulder? One word: GENIUS!)

      All of these qualities, so well-balanced in Washu are rarely done as well in other anime (IMO) as the brainy/smart-ass of the group is often either very cynical, belittling others that they feel are less intelligent than they are, or just plain weird. Maybe I’m just biased (ok, I am) but Washu’s ‘weirdness’ has always been just the right blend of humor, bizarreness & lovability that just makes her irresistable as a character.

      I have to like Washu at least a bit…she is Ryoko’s mom afterall. :D

      ..but I did kinda find her actions toward her daughter a little on the cruel side in Here comes Jurai part 2 fo r my liking. Other than that she’s a great character ..probably my 2nd favorite. :)

      I certainly don’t want to stereotype, but I’m that way too often, ForWashuu, not one to brag/talk myself up. I think it’s that good ol’ midwestern, easy-going attitude.

      So which part of Iowa? I went to college in northwestern part of Iowa and spent some of my childhood in southwestern

      Minnesota.(Which explains the fact why I love Minnesota pro-sports teams such as Vikings and Twins.)

      In the manga a lot of her humor comes out as well.Though in a lot of ways she tends to be more of the straight woman to Ryoko and Aeka in much the same way that Kiyone is to Mihoshi.

      Still moving frames always look better than moving frames, and it also didn’t rely on an episode and a half of recap animation from 10 years prior and then recycle almost an entire episodes worth of animation in the form of a “time redo” at the end, lol :Tenchismile:

      I absolutely love Washu’s unique personality. It’s similar to Ryoko’s but in it’s own special way, and I wouldn’t change her character for the world. Despite being thousands of years old, she still maintains that comic-like personality instead of being portrayed as just wise with no sense of humour or a sort of “I’m too old for this” attitude. And she’s straight forwardly honest. Absolutely adore her. <3
