Officer NanamiFYI, those wavy lines on her arms and legs are where the shadows will be once colored, and those dashes are where the black will be. Those aren’t stripes, lol.
Brief bio:
She’s not a field agent/detective like Mihoshi and Kiyone are, she works a desk job at GPHQ. Mihoshi’s accident reports go across her desk, so she’s often stressed out at work, and she’s usually in a foul mood when she’s stressed.
(5/1/15)She may still have a pet of some sort, but what’s below is a super bizarre idea I had about a dog that is not going to happen. Someone must’ve spiked my root beer or something, because I have no idea where that came from, lol.
She has a puppy that she adopted while on vacation on Earth. I’m thinking St. Bernard, although I guess it could also be some kind of alien breed she got on Jurai or something. Thoughts? I had a name picked out this morning, but I forgot it lol. So for now the dog will be known as Pudding! (subject to change)

Came out really nicely! When you said you were gonna color it, I imagined it being digital – so this was a nice surprise. And the shadowing on the contours of her face was a good touch. I think she’d approve of you catching her on her good side. The bitch.

Honestly Nil, I have zero digital art skills beyond minor photo editing. Pretty much everything I do is by hand. I’ve attempted to color some things digitally before and they never quite come out right, although me not even attempting to practice or look up tutorials or anything like that may have something to do with it, 😆 I also don’t prefer the more “artificial” (albeit cleaner) appearance of digitally colored art. Not that I don’t think digital art looks good, or that I’d be against doing a picture like that in the future, but I prefer to keep thingsau naturale😉 -

Ayekakiyonesmile1 As a side note, thinking back, I’m not sure what was going through my head when I made up that backstory for the female GP officer. A dog? Really? That’s just super weird in hindsight, and is not going to happen anymore, although she still may have an alien pet of some sort. The dog was going to be a wise-cracking, chain-smoking alcoholic to make him more interesting, but a real-life breed of dog just doesn’t really feel like it belongs in Tenchi, especially away from Earth. I could probably salvage the dog for a potential original story at some point anyways, so no big deal.

Unnamed Male GP OfficerThis is the first pic I’ve ever uploaded of this guy, despite me having doodled him several times. I just never arrived at a satisfactory design that I wanted to share until now.

Officer NanamiI’ve uploaded one pic of her before (previous page), but I tweaked the design a bit for this profile shot. I think she came out really good.

Ryoko (Digital)At long last I got a drawing tablet as a birthday gift. Naturally, the first thing I drew was BEST GIRL from Tenchi.
Behold! My first 100% digital art piece. Took me about… 4-and-a-half to 5 hours to complete.

I love the Kiyone sketch but the Ryoko digital one looks a bit goofy to me. Or it could just be me. -

It was my first digital picture, cut me some slack
blush1 It did come out kind of cartoony, which wasn’t necessarily what I was going for, but I don’t mind.

BlueI wasn’t originally going to post this here, as it’s not Tenchi related, but I figured why not? This one is a lot more artsy than most of my pictures, which are usually just line art and some basic colors. I got the idea to try this style a few days ago when I was looking up a picture of Nicolas from Gangsta to show to Snow. I came across some fanart of him done similar to this, entirely in black and one other color. I thought it looked really cool and decided to try my hand at it while also trying out some clothing ideas I’ve had recently (the sweater vest, specifically). Two birds with one stone!
I’m not entirely satisfied with how the face and head came out, but everything else is pretty much exactly what I was going for. Eventually I might do a whole series like this, each using a different color.

Metal Gear SaladSo, my latest drawing requires a bit of context. This is
, a new character introduced in the latest iteration of Dead or Alive (which most of you know is my favorite fighting game). Her moveset is mostly a mix of borrowed moves from other characters, not unlike a salad, which is a mixture of leafy vegetables. As such, fans quickly nicknamed her “Salad.”HonokaPrompted by the hype of the newly-released Metal Gear Solid 5, I finally picked up the first MGS for the original PlayStation, which got me thinking about maybe doing some MGS fanart. The lightbulb went off, and thus, “Metal Gear Salad” was born.
I’m pretty satisfied with this one. The finished picture came out a lot better than I anticipated. My favorite part, weird as this may sound, is probably the box. I had a lot of fun designing the details. As an FYI for those who don’t know, DOATEC is an organization prominently featured in DOA. The logo (which I designed) doubles as a way to make an otherwise generic box more DOA-specific and as a nod to the labeled boxes in MGS (which makes them effective hiding spots only in specific areas).
Careful you don’t run into Salad Snake while you’re out patrolling a super-sus research facility and military complex. You probably won’t live long.

Glynda Goodwitch (RWBY)My first piece of RWBY fanart is… Glynda! Glynda? …really? Yes, really.
Definitely not the first character I thought I’d end up drawing, but I stumbled across a cosplay pic last night that I
hadto use as a reference. The angle, the pose, everything was perfect… except the cape. That friggin’ cape. In the reference pic it wasn’t flapping in the wind like I wanted, so I scrounged up a few screenshots of her with the cape flowing, but mostly winged it. Capes are hard. Shading it was probably the funnest part, although I’m still working on imitating proper lighting with it.

MihoshiI’ve drawn Kiyone a number of times, but realized that I had barely drawn Mihoshi at all. So… I decided to fix that!
Obviously, the finished picture was drawn and colored digitally, but for comparison I’ve also included my original pencil sketch. A reference was used for the pose.
The shading was the hardest part, and I’m still not entirely satisfied with how it turned out, particularly in the chest area. But it’s good enough for now.
