Mobile attack platforms: Tenchi in Tokyo ep 21 Seen in with the attack against Yugi on Jurai, capable of flight, carrying a person, and a over arm cannon drawing power from the platform for the controller to shoot. The platform, unlike most Jurai technology that has tree attributes looks like entirely manufactured. Although unsure of power source, maybe a branch of a royal tree or a receiver to gain power from near by ones. It could be only selected individuals could use the platforms which would explain the uniform of the riders in ep 21, not meant for regular infantry to use.

Tree barriers/cage: OVA ep 2 and Universe, ep 21 The barriers are tree trunks or branches, grown to contain a individual, they can react to a person trying to cut or force the barrier, and it adjusts to tighten or electrocute itself. The barrier could be a Royal Tree branches as the place where it’s seen are either a Royal Tree Ship, or a Juraian Checkpoint where large trees grew.

A thought occurred while watching Tenchi in Tokyo! Can Yugi be considered for those with a power of Jurai? It is said in the anime she was a mutant, but could use the power of Jurai in a tremendous way. gendo1 Also in ep 21 of Tenchi in Tokyo sub, Washu mention something about Juraitrium 7000, only occurring from those from Jurai. It begs the question if it is only what naturally occurs in those born on Jurai, or if it is the signature of ones with power of Jurai.

Jurai guard/soldier Uniforms in Universe and OVA: Their attire is loose and a bit baggy for free movement and looks ceremonial. However none of the Juraian uniforms have no visible armor whatsoever, I have not seen any personal energy shields or defense devices on them to help them fight or defend them. The attire looks good, but it is not suited for proper space combat. tenchiahhhhhh - January 13, 2015 at 6:56 AM

evilpii’s postGoing on Juraian limitations, it is possible to in a way wear down someone with the power of Jurai with tremendous force or attrition. Ayeka in ep 9 of Tokyo casts a shield but then is worn down by the old Guardians, and again in OVA ep 12 when being sucked into a black hole and finally gives. I would name Tenchi, but Ayeka is more experienced and familiar with powers than Tenchi is in all continuities.
gendo1 The evidence from Tokyo would support the notion of Momo self generating a shield as Ayeka does that herself without Mini-guardians in ep 9

Standard Jurai Infantry Weapons seen in OVA and Universe: A staff with metal caps on ends. I haven’t seen another weapon being held by another Jurai soldier besides maybe a sword in Here Comes Jurai! The ones with a key seem to be more in variety of options of attack. I not seen a Soldier shoot lasers or create shields with a staff, one would think at least one would have a gun or be able to use the staff to fire energy attacks. Only having plain staff weaponry for Jurai soldiers makes Ryoko’s attack on Jurai in OVA’s actually believable.

Quote:Nil wrote:Similarly, in Kajishima’s novels he seems to only include nobility in the list of eligible Jurians for pairing with a tree. We only get to see them a handful of times, including the death of Mitsuki Amaki, but the trees with power appear to be inaccessible to civilians. This is cross-referenced between both sets of novels in stating that by pairing with a tree, it extends the Jurian Royalty’s lifespan by a considerable amount. Referring back to Hasegawa’s novels, she claims that the average Jurian’s lifespan was around 200 years, whereas a Jurian Royal would be granted 10 times that, often living upwards of 2,000 years.
So in short a Juraian would have a average lifespan of 200 years and those that have would live about 2000 or so.
