Here’s the postscript to “OMATSURI ZENJITSU NO YORU SEIKISHI-BAN 11.08” (date of publication: 08/12/2011).

The March earthquake was really something. When the shaking suddenly got big, the feeling was seriously hairy and scenes from the Kobe earthquake went through my head. You really can’t do anything while it’s shaking… only look at falling books and belongings. Fortunately I wasn’t injured and nothing got damaged. Only fan heater type things unexpectedly proved to be something to watch out for. Falling over would have made it switch off, but it was left standing and got buried under various stuff, getting so hot that it seemed ready to catch fire. So, watch out everyone… and now the status report.

First off, I’m currently working on the GXP novel and if all goes to plan, it should be out early next year as usual. The idea is to get in everything up to the conclusion of Fuku-chan’s run-away incident or thereabouts. On the anime side there are several projects in the works, but nothing yet at announcement level. If all goes well, I may be able to tell you something in the Winter issue.

Speaking of, the Winter issue will continue with the pilot suits. I’d like to further explain some things I didn’t have a chance to get into in detail this time around.

    Kajishima Masaki

The issue itself is all about the girls showing off lots of skin-tight pilot suits, with some explanation of how they’re made. Apparently they’re “sewn” to model by ring-shaped scanner-replicators that were discovered in the ruins of the prehistoric civilization.

What a christmas present that would be ^_^

I looked up the odds in Vegas.

      Saint Knight’s Tale 2: 45:1

      Porno with references: 30:1

      OVA 4: 325:1

      Detroit Red Wings: 50:1

Taking all bets people. First-born children also accepted. Big pay-outs on OVA 4 though, it’s very tempting.

SKT2 is pretty much guarenteed, Also, these were on new projects he can’t talk about with announcements, Anata Dake is already out and being released which leaves us as

      Saint Knight’s Tale 2:

      OVA 4:

      GXP2/ Something completely new:

I’d say our odds of seeing the main cast are pretty high

I’d like to see a new OVA (and there’s no one who wouldn’t?) but if there happens to be a continuation of the SKT story-line, well that means I got a lot of watching to do.

I watched like 5 minutes of the dubbed GXP and couldn’t stand it. If I venture down that road again it’s going to have to be with subs, which is a shame because i prefer dubs. It’s just easier for me to connect to the characters.

I’m honestly not sure I’d be interested in a continuation of the OVA. It just seems too far gone to me.

      A continuation of Universe, though….

Theory crafting GO GO GO, lol

Legitimately though, Kajishima’s 3 contract deal with AIC with Tenchi is up, meaning, theoretically since he is a “freelancer’ (albeit one who’ worked closely with AIC for 2 decades) he could always approach another studio with doing it, meaning it would be different aesthetically then AIC’s, that about as far a shot as it comes, but hell I can dream too, lol

No, just before GXP, Kajishima signed a 3 Tenchi Anime contract (Meaning 3 shows around Tenchi Muyo). Since that contract is now up (GXP, OVA3, SKT), One can theorize (like I have) that Kajishima being a freelancer, could pitch the idea to another company other then AIC (Not likely but not impossible) and them take him up on the offer, though I doubt its the case considering AIC was doing Anata Dake with him, but it would be nice to see a different twist considering Tenchi has been done almost exclusively by AIC (obviously some studios help with inbetweening, but the only other time another helped largely was in the first movie)

But doesn’t AIC own half of the rights to Tenchi? Wouldn’t Kajishima have to stay with AIC if he wants to make more Tenchi stuff?

It will be a strange ideal that one of the anime projects which Masaki Kajishima is working is a Tenchi Muyo: Next Generation type series. Right now, we will have to wait for a TM: Next Genearation type series. If Tenchi had gotten married at the age of 25, his oldest child will be seven by 2011. The Saint Knight’s Tale/ISM sequel is likely one of the projects which Kajishima is working on.

      :trooper:

I just hope they will bring back the original voice actors since the character they play represents themselves >.< because they play their character so good that when others tries to play them, it's just not the same /cries lol I miss the old cast so badly! and these people are on my list (Special list) YES! i have a list of people I want to live forever cuz they are so good at what they do! = P you can't get enough of. = ) O speaking of Yugi, Yes I want Yugi to wake up and join the family. I’ve red someone’s point of view of their own story of Sakuya’s return.. but I didn’t wanna read on since I don’t wanna spoil it for myself and felt kind of dissapointed cuz I have a bad imagination while reading, I preffer watching it = X. O and Sakuya’s return is another reason why I like Yugi to wake up! hahaha sorry >.<

I personally think a OVA 4 would be a great addition to the Tenchi Muyo! series. There were a lot of details that I think were left out and I think they pushed OVA 3 too fast in order to “end the series”. In the end, I’m going to have to wait and see since OVA 3 took almost 9 years to be released.

Anything new with Tenchi Muyo! would be more than enough to make me happy.

Agreed!.. I still wanna know what happend to Tenchi’s Fiancee/marriage. I know everybody don’t like Noike, I don’t feel alright about her to, I just wanna know what’s going to happend between Tenchi and Noike, also Ryoko and Ayeka’s reactions = X

That’s a whole other can of worms.

To be honest if it’s not OVA 4 I’ll be sad face.

Alternatively, she was actually introduced in Naoko Hasegawa’s canon, which the second movie followed. Too bad that wasn’t really good either, as it was merely part of a double feature.

Hey guys! Just thought this little tidbit of info I ran across might be relevant. I emailed the Tenchi Muyo! FAQ

(http://www.astronerdboy.com/tenchi/) about it, and here is basically the initial inquiry and response, make of it what you will.

      Quote:

      Hello,

I have recently stumbled across a bit of information on this site:

      http://tenchi.wikia.com/wiki/Ryoko_Hakubi

In which I read this segment:

“It has been revealed by series creator, Masaki Kajishima, that decades

after OVA 3, Ryoko will have a daughter whom resembles her and seems to

have similar eyes to Tenchi. The fandom has named the girl “Tenko”, as a

portmanteau of their names. A story is currently in the works based

around “Tenko”, though not much has been revealed.”

Would you by chance know if this is this in reference to a doujin, a

novel, or a future animated spin off? Any and all related information you

might have in regards to this would also be appreciated.

      Thank you for your time.

      Quote:

I’m not sure if the latest winter Comiket has happened or not. If so, Kajishima-sensei would likely have a doujinshi there and he always puts in a blurb on what he’s currently doing. I know that Kajishima-sensei is working on a new anime project, as reported from Comiket Summer 2011.

“On the anime side there are several projects in the works, but nothing yet at announcement level. If all goes well, I may be able to tell you something in the Winter issue.”

So, it is *possible* that Kajishima-sensei has said something and I just don’t know about it, or this may be some rumor. I put in a note, asking for a source for this information. We’ll see if we get one or not.

      -ANB

Its probably more wishful thinking on my part, but a new animated story line following the daughter of Ryoko could hold some potential. Any other thoughts?

Dude! ^_^ No one seems to have shared this yet, so here’s Kajishima’s message from the last page of the 11.12 Onsen.

“Well then, I had to rush this a bit, but for now the chapter on pilot suit explanations is closed. Painting everything is a lot of work, but it’s been fun to draw these, so maybe I’ll try some more styles at some point. There’s probably quite a bit still left unexplained anyway…Next time the topic will be “Parents’ Visiting Day”. I want to cover things like Chiaia’s and Wahanly’s mothers, who never made an appearance. Hence, Mexiah (will be presenting the story).

In terms of work, it’s definite that the novel will be out in January 2012 and I’ll have an illustration in Dragon Magazine at the same time. Since I managed to conclude the whole runaway Fuku-chan thing, I can now take the plunge into the Earth chapter. ……Here’s hoping I can finish that in a single volume. Everything else is still sort of in the pipeline. See you in the summer!

      Kajishima Masaki”

Damn, he made it sound like something new was imminent last time but now it’s back to the usual vagueness again.

This is why you use several machine translations….

Let’s see if I can rewrite this to make some sense.

      Quote:

From the 9th volume, announcing a new island adventure! The ladies await!

“War in Paradise” (or could be “Trouble in Paradise”) a new original light-novel work from Tenchi Muyo creator Kajishima Masaki will be released for young adults in spring of 2013 by Kodansha Books!

The series centers around a high school student(s), stuck in the middle of a great upheaval (military comes in, or great personal distress).

There is a great cost in waiting for one you yearn for… many things are left behind at the crossroads of life…

“This island atmosphere is a beautiful one, with cloudless skies, lush forests, and a transparent ocean dyed a striking emerald blue. Ah! This can be considered paradise…”

“On this island, I met from a chance encounter, 4 beautiful foreign girls, who all came to stay here. To be around them… isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Although something is strange concerning how they came to be here… Oh?! They showed up just when I had finally grown accustomed to living alone. This used to be a tranquil paradise… but now?”

The second part is just a mess, can’t really tell what it’s saying:

      Quote:

Inside the front cover (or from the front ad):

“Although the boy enjoys himself in a life of comfort, he himself was born from a beauty over a hundred years old…”

      or

      Quote:

Inside the front cover (or from the front ad):

“While this promises to be a lot of fun, the girl is still from 100 years ago, and there will be conflict.”

I’m not a translator… just reading it multiple ways and adding my personal experience with Japanese seems to clear it up some.
