I recently bought these two Japanese N64 games however i’ll need to modify an N64 in order to play them. In case you’re wondering a North American N64 (NTSC) CAN play Japanese N64 games (NTSC-J) with a minor hardware modification. Instead of modifying my existing N64 I plan on building my own portable, region free N64 to play these games on.

It’s not hard at all to modify. Here’s a video that shows you how to do it. [BBvideo 425,350] [/BBvideo] The thing with an N64 is that there is no region lockout chip. The game paks are shaped differently between the two regions thus the need for the modification.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNljGM3WOfs Evangelion I paid $50 for. I got lucky because it’s complete and was the only one being offered on eBay from a U.S. seller at the time.
Pokemon Stadium (the original that never saw an international release) I paid $20 for on eBay from the same seller.
