    The smileys aren’t working. I click on them but all that happens is my page is pushed back up to the top and they don’t appear in the chat box (or in regular posts for that matter).

    Anyway, day two has come and gone, and Nekocon is still a rip-roaring good time! Here are some of the highlights from the second day.

    By far the best experience of today (and probably of this entire con) was the Steve Blum signing! To actually meet the man behind the voice of so many of my youthful idols was truly an amazing experience, and not to mention a great photo opportunity!:

    I couldn’t resist the classic bebop pose… :D Bang. 😎

    Anyway, here are some more cool pics that I randomly snapped today:

    A shot of the main hall. This wasn’t taken at the height of traffic, but regardless, as you can see this was a relatively small but happenin’ con.

    Well, Nekocon 2013 is over for me, and it was a resounding success! I experienced many things for the first time here, and I will always treasure the memories (and stuff!) that I acquired over this wonderful weekend! I look forward to at least two more Nekocons, and I hope that they will be as fun as this one was! Next up: (fingers crossed for) Ohayocon 2014, and (definitely) Katsucon 2014!

    True enough, but in the anime production community (which I imagine is as relatively close knit as the equivalent western tv/film communities) you’ve got to assume that they are aware of the connotations and implications of Tenchi and place them in their work accordingly…

    Speaking of the Tenchi Muyo! kanji showing up in strange places, here is a cameo that shows up, of all places, in an episode of Sailor Moon!

    I’ve just looked, and the episode that this appears in aired only a few weeks after the very first OVA episode! Apparently Tenchi had some very early fans in the production staff of Sailor Moon!

    AWESOME vid man! I love it! One question: did you intentionally leave in the “Nice Hollystone” and “Jacuzi Splot” names? Here’s hoping this one takes home the gold!

    Just like in Chicago elections, the secret to winning here is to vote early and vote often! 😆

    I’m glad to see they used Ryoko’s very best picture for her profile in that vid! Also, I do hope she makes it at least to the semi-finals, but the fact that she’s in the same section as Yoko Litner….
