Well Sasami’s VA also plays D/Dee. Rumia and Misao also show up from Pretty Sammy along with Kiyone.

Photon is to WOG as Dual is to Tenchi really, they are both spin offs that give you a better look at some of the inner workings of things.
Photon is fine for what it is, the enemies are annoying at times, but it’s more a traditional romp in another universe sort of like El Hazard.
Dual is more down to earth and comedy, it’s serious when it has to be.

Well I guess my first convention was Ohayocon in 2006, it was small. We happened to be going to Columbus anyway as I’ve got family up there. Dropped in looked around… can’t say I was all too impressed. Went to Acen in Chicago next and pretty much felt the same way, it was larger had more space and stuff, as well as more crowds. Did get to meet one of the old DualFans there, aamishi, who was part of the con admin staff. Was there for a panel on how to run a panel. Mostly I gained the impression a con was just aplace for people on the internet to meet up in person and spend money of stuff that could be found else where cheaper.
Flew out to Anime Expo, hotel and all. Had again, pretty much more of everything. Did get to meet a few more of the Dualfans, just about had a heart attack as UPS did their best to lose all my Dual collection that I shipped cross the USA. Worked as a volunteer, cosplayed as the con mascot, sat in on a couple panels and saw the AMV contest. Got to talk to the original founder of AX, via an arranged meeting. Pretty much stuck to a schedule and came home.
Mostly I went to try and figure out how to run a con in each instance, didn’t know anyone particularly. Came, saw what there was to see and went.

There’s only one I know of commercially that’s for sale. Yosho’s Jurai outfit. Cosplay most often involves you making your own costume or commissioning parts or a whole from someone and paying them time + materials.
Depending on the character and your level of obsession, yes it can be expensive… or you can improvise.

Some thoughts from talking with Who. We need to make a pre-submission list of what we want to cover.
We should have a 50 minute block with 5 mins setup and break down on either side.
Some things to cover:
Presentation – Tenchi Toonami promo
The extended universe (ie other series, Dual!, Photon, Sammy)
Noting the announcements and releases for the new sets and war on geminar.
The manga, Doujinshi, Novels.
The community is still around! Where we’re at. TF/DF/etc
Other projects – tenchicast, redub, MST, amv’s, etc
Interaction with the fans –
Q&A time towards the end.
Somehow interact more with them during things. (ask like what’s your favorite moment?)
Need to figure out who all will be on the panel (JGZ, Dagon, Chuck, ???????)
Any ideas on where / when to put a cosplay meetup or as part of or after the panel (again loose idea when/where kinda early atm to pick anything).
What’s going to be the plan tentatively’loosely if we don’t get approved?
