    The Okuda manga is based on OVA’s 1&2, also 3 when it came out. Also the True Tenchi Novels are co-written by Kajishima, so the Misaki and Funaho Royal Tree names and being twin trees are based in the Kajishima continuity.

    Originally Tenchi was OVA then continued as novels, then manga. Dragon Magazine is a good place to start, strong following since 1988, and several good series were carried by them.

    No it’s more like it doesn’t exist in this series, a new start kind of. They’re are going off of the original first movie storyline and not the second. Though there are probably going to be references from all stories and other shows maybe.

    You forgot novels, and not Kajishima novels, I mean a reboot through novels. Lots of anime start from novels, restart fresh from the beginning.
