    this is an interesting looking ship. its design is unfamiliar to me. i wonder if the other pilot is Beni?

    i have mixed feelings about these designs. i’m interested to see how they translate to animation cels.

    this is not what i was expecting. this reveal didn’t really get me excited for the series as it all looks very unfamiliar and thus doesn’t remind me at all of tenchi. i will still give it a chance, but i won’t get my hopes up for anything groundbreaking. they are 5 minute shorts, after all.

    just a shame that for tenchi’s 20th anniversary we get this. i think tenchi deserves better. sailor moon got an entire series reboot! but it’s far more popular and pushes more merch, so it’s not a fair comparison.

    listening to the cast, i would echo the person who was talking about how Seina’s main selling point was the “bad luck” thing as the constant source of plot devices and comedy relief. at first it was cute, but it got old really fast. i also thought the harem was a lot weaker. I did not feel the connection with the GXP cast that I did with Muyo. It was trying too hard to echo the original series and was not even half as effective. When I saw glimpses of the original cast in GXP i just wished it was about them and then they’d disappear again. also, the art and animation style really bothered me. felt really cheap.

    i did not enjoy GXP at all, and it makes me sad to say that.

    this is one of the first pieces of Ayeka i ever saw, i think was 11 at the time. and probably one of the first pieces of anime art i ever saw in general, because Tenchi is what got me in to anime. my parents did not like anime so i tried to keep it somewhere hidden ^^; she was also my favorite character back then. i think it’s safe to say she was my first anime crush. i was pretty young so cut me some slack Tenchismile
