Genesis, one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard.You wouldn’t think I’d leave this thread untouched would you? :washu: :rei: :ghost: My love affair with Washu really began with the scene where she took Tenchi to the wall and was trying to figure out the source of the Lighthawk wings. While heavily edited for TV I knew she was going to be a winner.
My appreciation grew even more when I re-watched the series in 2008. I grew to understand her character even more, and in all honesty I felt bad for her. When I think about it, she had the ability to run away from adult problems and revert to a childish state, something many people would probably wish for. But she was more than that, she was probably the wackiest, the most perverse, and all around the cutest of the bunch. And holy damn her eyes
Of course I didn’t think that in 2010 I’d run into her. Rather literally as a matter of fact. But I didn’t catch her name.

Yeah it’s hard on me but I say this because after ACen 2010, my view on Washu changed. Sure she’s still my favorite character, but now a days I can say I look at her a bit differently.

We all love Mihoshi. Even though she falls into dumb blonde territory, she’s our dumb blonde. Anytime things got serious you’d always count on Mihoshi to screw it up and give you a smile on your face. She’s the anti-Washu, really, where one is the calculating and smart one, and the other is the bumbling ignorant fool. :scared:
When paired up with Kiyone we got an odd couple style of relationship, with Kiyone always seeming to be foiled by Mihoshi. But Mihoshi seemed more childish than ignorant in later incarnations, taking away from her lack of intelligence and making her more naive. But had it not been for Kiyone lending her ship in Universe, who’s to say how things would have fared? While they were both rather minor in the scope of things, they filled their roles well, and to boot they aren’t that bad looking ladies either >3>
Kiyone was always smart and loyal, even to her partner who held her back from so many promotions. She loved her (whether or not you believe the whole “They’re dikes” theory that’s your problem) and couldn’t hurt her, no matter how many times she got mad at her. That’s quite a bit of restraint and maturity from someone under so much pressure.

A lot of people bash Ayeka, mostly for being Anti-Ryoko, whom this board usually takes the side of. But think about it. Most of Ryoko’s antics would be non existent would it not be for Ayeka. I think that even though she’s not the most popular character, she still has her own strengths and merits. Ayeka always seemed like a loving, helpful woman, a great friend who you could always approach for anything. Her loyalty always seemed like her biggest draw to me.
Despite that she does have a temper, but who doesn’t? Her’s usually ends up with things breaking in half though, so there’s something otherworldly. At the end of the day, I firmly believe you have a person who would never want to leave your side whether it was a major or minor problem. Ayeka is a necessary entity for things to work in the Tenchi world, and she is alright by me. Plus red is my favorite color~

Ryoko is probably one of the few women who you can consider one of the major sex symbols of anime, and in fact probably far up there with likes of Faye Valentine of Cowboy Bebop fame. Everything about her screams “Drool over me” whether it’s her personality, her looks, or the way she behaves. I’m fairly certain that most young male anime fans had thoughts about her, and many female fans would go lesbian for that as well. She’s gained her own following through the past decade or so for being the brash, sexy, tomboy most people know her to be. Fan sites probably numbered in the dozens in the early stages of the internet and some still survive. Hell we still acknowledge her greatness almost everyday via this thread, our screen names, avatars, sigs, and through the character battle each year. I’d say she’s earned a spot in anime fame.
I cannott lie, she is a very sexy girl. Would be nice to have one like her some day. And the cosplayers?
