The UN was involved, and Rara had really already won and taken over most of the world before Dr. S got involved with the EDF though. They were almost always on the back foot. Reika nearly provided all the funding for the EDF, which is why it was a private army. How much of it was scheming of Ayuko and Kumu is another question. If they had conquered the world, what would have come of it? There was a short part where Dr. Rara claimed that he took the artifact to keep others from fighting over it… and yet we know how that turned out.
I can’t really see conquering the world when they’re fighting for just sections of cities at a time. And the EDF I think always defended while RaRa attack which never made sense to me. I mean, they have mechs too, why not go on counter strike and reclaim territory and for some reason they couldn’t, it felt like a one sided war. The protecting of scientific discoveries from being fought over is admirable, but no one will know that unless you say it and not use them to conquer cities and blow parts of them up.

Quote:It is possible that the Jurai’s hierarchy is almost exact as a earth hierarchy, Royal family – branch families – special cases and/or highly trusted people. Line of succession based on family status, and most likely each family or individual with position governs a sector or planet within the Jurai empire.
A Possibility that Jurai would mainly have to focus on other large nations and empires on a Macro-territory level, the sectors governed by selected individuals would have to focus on forces on a micro-territory level in their own place. Trading, housing, criminal offenders would be left to the governing position of a Jurai sector itself. However depending on the degree of actions like, certain trades, pirate activity, or politics would be on the macro level and need to coordinated with Jurai and the governing sector.

Quote:wwwwhhhhoooo wrote:Well, there’s the movie realm, and hearing about how Negishi has wanted to do a TMiL 3 since 2009 makes me believe that’s where he’ll aim next. If it ends up being just that, it won’t be a new continuity, but renewed interest in the franchise could lead to just that: a legit reboot, and a much needed fresh start.
Like I said before A movie would be only viewed by a fan audience. It’s not Miyazaki, the movie that everyone wants to see because Miyazaki made it, and then see it to realize why they love it. The only way I see a movie for Tenchi to bring in new crowds is to make awesome trailers or teasers. Tenchi got small promos and posters for it’s anime, a couple of 1 minute teasers for movies like iL2, which in my opinion wasn’t a real eye grabber. Even Ai only had posters localize to Takahashi city, they would need to somehow broadcast like a box office movie to make it notice by a lot.

Actually there is a point there. I mean if you look at each character carefully, they are deep and their world setting can enrich that fact. Still in the anime I felt like they skimmed over some parts quickly, like D’s backstory or the real point of the war, because when I first watched it, it felt like two scientists fighting over whose better, but with mechs.

blush1 The entire episode has throwbacks to earlier Tenchi, as well as references to different anime.Tenchismile By my count, here’s what I noticed.1.Hana and Touri are the announcers, so not directly participating. Their commentary is not unlike that of Nobuyuki and Katushito in Universe episode 20, and gives some insight into each character.
2.Momo is dressed as a giant peach creature, very cute. This could be referencing many shows, but the first that comes to mind is Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu.
mmhmm1 Then again, there were those cabbit-suits from Tokyo episode 11.3.Hachiko, naturally, just keeps her costume from the play, which is a European-style military formal uniform. This easily could be poking at shojo series like Utena.
4.Yuki dons a gym class swimsuit, which is a staple in high school anime, even showing up in a couple early episodes of Evangelion.
5.Rui, likewise, is in a bloomer gym suit, another high school anime trope, much like Achika’s in Tenchi Muyo! in Love.
6.Beni, however, breaks the mold a bit by wearing a male gakuran school uniform. I doubt anyone can question what trope she is.
jotaro1 7.Ukan steps out representing… well… let’s just say someone had better “Call [Her] Princess”, or maybe queen. I’m looking at you, Ayeka.
qt1 8.Tenchi, on the other hand, is more simple and refined, dare I say, like his mother or Ayeka would normally.
soawesome1 Of course, this is not the first time Tenchi has crossdressed, the first time I recall being Universe episode 21.I loved all the little nods as well: Hana turning toward camera and saying they “shouldn’t waste time”, Yuki’s glasses acting as a scouter (breaking OVER 9000!), even Tenchi’s sparkles.

However, there is a nice little allusion to Sasami using “magic” on Tenchi. Might Sasami have dug out a baton and said some magic words, like “Pretty Mutation Magical Recall”? ”
I noticed Momo did mention the “pi po pa”.
” That is, she is referencing the TV series version of the Pretty Sammy opening, Magical Project S. Nice catch, Nobuyuki.

I know the oni’s are a reference to Ryoko and Mihoshi fighting, but I cant help but see it as a callback to Azaka and Kamidake standing in front of the Tenchi household in the OVA’s. Blue and Red oni’s and if you look back
