No they are not connected. I have not seen all of them myself. The only time it connects is the All Stars movies but it’s not a must to watch and them all and in order.

Sorry this guide isn’t that great but hopefully it should help at least in the order of things though you don’t need to watch in order (I started at Smile)
As far as the series goes it is a very traditional take on the magical girl genre and it different aims at a all ages so if you’re looking for a genre breaker like Madoka, Yuki Yuna, ect this isn’t the series for you though it has moments of great fight, fist to fist combat but that’s usually not the case (especially when you get further into the franchise) though I honestly haven’t seen passed Doki Doki Precure so I can’t really speak for those. If anything it’s something Sailor Moon, Mew Mew , ect fans will enjoy more as it’s more along those lines (and the Cure’s are made by Toei Animation).
