As most people here know, I watched Gunbuster 2/Diebuster recently, and while I don’t usually care much for cutesy J-Pop songs, I really loved the OP. It was just so catchy, plus it’s pretty hard to dislike a sing titled Groovin’ Magic. [BBvideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui-f6fMbSEE [/BBvideo] The ED,
Hoshikuzu Namida, was pretty good too. [BBvideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o88Vjp_-Ros [/BBvideo] - March 6, 2015 at 6:47 AM

That box is totally fake, and that website is super fishy. There’s no mention of FUNimation anywhere on that listing, but the biggest giveaways are the fact that it’s listed as only Japanese language with subtitles and is region free. The region especially. Big red flag there. FUNimation is a North American distributor, and therefore doesn’t do region-free releases. They also dubbed it. There’s no way they’d put out a popular show like Psycho Pass sub-only. I assume you want the official US release? There is no DVD-only set. The Part 1 and Part 2 Blu-ray/DVD combo packs as well as the premium collectors box set are the only releases FUNi has put out of this show.
(which is %50 off MSRP). You won’t find it much cheaper than that.Amazon currently has each part for ~$32 eachJust some friendly advice. I would not recommend searching for random websites until you find an believably low price like this, because it’s probably too good to be true. If you feel the need to ask if something is legit or not, then it probably isn’t. When shopping for anime online check Amazon, check Rightstuf, maybe check retail chain websites (Best Buy, Hastings, FYE, etc.), but there really aren’t a lot of legit internet retailers that stock anime beyond that scope. 9 times out of 10 Righstuf (during sales, at least) and Amazon have the cheapest prices for legit anime releases… anywhere, really. You’d be hard-pressed to find better deals elsewhere outside of coupons and big sales.
If you do worry you’ve stumbled across a potential bootleg though, and don’t have someone to ask, the easiest fix would be to simply hop on Amazon or Righstuf, or even FUNimation’s own website, and search for it. You can check what the legit releases look like and their specifications. If it isn’t the same, then it’s obviously fake.
That was probably a lot to process, but I hope this info helps!

- in reply to: Toonami Lives… In some form…
As some people may already know, Adult Swim tried a little experiment with anime outside of Toonami recently. They started airing a rerun of the previous week’s “new” episode of
DBZ Kai Saturday nights at 8PM Eastern, right at the start of AS. This only happened, like, 2 weeks ago I think. The first week didn’t pull in ratings that were all that great, probably because people just weren’t aware, plus because it was a last-minute change some guides didn’t show it yet. It did far better the 2nd week, raking in about 1.2 million viewers, which is almost unheard of in that timeslot. Because of this success, they were quick to pair DBZ up with reruns of another shonen anime. This time:
One Piece at 8:30PM!I’m a bit surprised they went with OP instead of, say, Shippuden, but I think this is a great idea. Despite being a mega-hit in Japan, One Piece has never reached the heights of popularity and mainstream appeal that the likes of DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, and even InuYasha have achieved in the US. I’m hoping this can be a step towards bringing it some much needed recognition by drawing in younger viewers and CN holdovers in an early slot. I’m not exactly sure when this is supposed to happen, but it should be within the next few weeks, if not this upcoming weekend. - March 5, 2015 at 5:03 AM

Got a bit of catching up to do. DAY 6This one is kinda hard, since I have little to no interest in dressing up in costume on any day other than Halloween. But if I had to, I’d go with Big O’s Roger Smith or Captain Harlock. Eva Unit-01 would be cool too, but quite hard to make I imagine.
DAY 7This is such an odd question. I guess I’d say… Shirou Emiya. He takes his training pretty seriously and overall just seems like he’d be a pretty fun guy to be work out with.
DAY 8Crossover? That’s easy. Tenchi x AMG. The clash of the rom-coms!
It’s so perfect. Tenchi and Keiichi can bond over their girl troubles. Skuld and Washu can pick each others brains and build something. Ryoko and Urd can get drunk together. Belldandy and Sasami can collaborate on dinner. Everyone pretty much has a perfect counterpart in the other series. It would be so much fun to see each household play off each other like that. Maybe Kagato x Mara should be my new crack pairing?
This reminds me that I actually brainstormed a Tenchi x AMG fanfic many moons ago with the help of some fellow forum members. I have that page of notes around here somewhere…

DAY 5This one is kinda tough. Not that I’m ashamed of being an anime fan in general, but it’s not exactly something I advertise to others who aren’t fans anyways, so I’m not entirely sure how to gauge whether or not I would be ashamed to admit I liked any given show, since it hasn’t really come up.
I can’t really think of any “so bad it’s good” type shows that might fit the bill, so I guess I’ll go with a guilty pleasure. Probably something fanservice heavy, like Heaven’s Lost Property. The story (which is surprisingly good, btw) and humor are the main reasons I enjoy it, but it’s still not a show I really go around telling many people I enjoyed, unless I know for a fact I won’t get that “you’re a perv” look from anybody.
I guess for a 2nd title I might go with Spaceship Agga Ruter. I watched one episode of that before dropping it. I don’t mind talking about it here, since it’s technically Tenchi-related so no one on the forum really cares, but in a different setting I would never admit to having watched even one episode of a hentai title.

DAY 4Another tough one. So, I’m gonna cheat again, lol. I think I’ll do what Snow did and list a top 5.
In no particular order…
Tenchi
Haruko (FLCL)
Kyon (Haruhi)
Urd (A!MG)
and Dandy (Space Dandy)
with Tomoki from Heaven’s Lost Property as a runner-up.
Never a dull moment around these folks, eh?

DAY 3This one actually wasn’t that hard for me. Bebop’s
Tank!and Gundam Wing’s Just Communicationare both pretty high up on my list of favorite OP’s, but in the end I can always easily narrow it down to one song: Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. 2nd Gig’s
