Hey guys. I just finished OVA 3 and I have to say…it was good. mmhmm1
I won’t lie and say that some thing bugged me in the beginning but the stories were still fun, the cast were the great people I remember, and this new arc expanded on many things. I do think that an extra ep or 2 would’ve gone over well with some of the extra questions left hanging but whatya gonna do? qt1
But I gotta say when they were talking about Kiyone’s funeral, it was…a bit rough to sit through. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tenchi as mad as he was here. Not that I blame him wtfisthis1
But overall I gave the series a 8.5 out 10.
Ps: Was it extra weird that Misaki was full frontal nude in this? And shouldn’t Sasami be a bit bugged out seeing her Mom naked and making out with what was obviously Tenchi? wth2
Gotta say the Asahi arc is really getting to me. It’s doing the 1 thing I wanted throughout the Tenchi series: expanding on the lore and still be funny.

Heck they’ve got another new character in Gohgei. He’s like a space werewolf!
Asahi’s decent as a new character and I can’t wait to see how the arc ends for her. The bad guys quirky miniboss squad remind me of another group but I don’t know where.
Also…I forever have the image of whip wielding Ayeka in my mind WANT1

It was gorgeous. A true gem of the nineties.
Jinnai easily became my favorite following Makoto, Fujisawa, and Shayla. The story was more epic than tenchi’s but given that it was a fantasy/adventure series while Tenchi was slice of life/sci-fi, that’s a given. But that last episode was just soooo….god the feels.
Ifurita’s leaving and the shared memories of her and Makoto: dawohki1dawohki1 .
But then the ending. Good on ya Makoto. Good on ya. soawesome1badass1

But overall I’m glad to add this show to my finished list. But there was another problem.

^ Well, depends on what you consider cheap. The DVD is somewhat rare.
New copies on Amazon start at $70 and only go up from there.
Used copies in good condition run about $30 or so, which is certainly cheaper by comparison.
Assuming you care what condition it’s in you won’t find it for much less than that, unless you get lucky on an eBay auction or manage to find one in a used video store.
😯 Hoo…I just got chills just considering what may happen if D GETS ITs hands on Tenchi. Liam Neeson as Yosho would be cool but who on god’s green earth could replace Kermit as the voice of Tenchi? Or the wondrous voice of the OVA 1-2 Ryoko?
We must pray it never happens my brothers and sisters. And if it does we can only hope they don’t get rid of the hot springs episodes.
