Hey, thanks for the info and post SM! I have been meaning to try and compile a list of places to get a hold of the manga, and this is one of the best sources I’ve seen! Hopefully their stock is big enough to supply all of us or else things could get interesting around here :Cheeks: Lol, I kid of course. I’m sure that there’s enough copies of these things out there for all of us!
P.S. I see that they have Tenchi roleplaying books there as well. Most interesting….

Congrats on the acquisition SM! I hope that you enjoy it greatly Now I really need to look into getting one for myself…. but the funi releases come first! Feel free to post pics whenever, I’m sure that all of us here will greatly appreciate them! Yugi’s giant floating crystal palace thing from TiT. That should be a big enough challenge for you! :Cheeks: - September 13, 2012 at 3:38 PM

Great finds there SM! and thank you Nobuyuki for the info! I have seen more of these little guys floating around on the interwebs and they’re almost always hilarious! I wish that we had seen more of these make it over to the English speaking world, perhaps tucked in the front and back of the Okuda mangas or something. Although they are so short, and the style is pretty generic, that I bet it wouldn’t be hard at all for such comics to be made locally. - September 13, 2012 at 3:36 AM

Yeah, I too really liked that small story arc. It was sad, but still inspirational, especially to those who have ever dreamed of writing (and let’s face it, that’s most of us!). Looking back, I suppose that I really enjoyed the sadder stories more than some of the cuter ones. I liked the depth and emotion that they conveyed, as well as the moving messages contained in them. Call me a softy, but I enjoy a good tear jerker every once in a while awesomenessplz - September 13, 2012 at 3:17 AM

Thorn, is your phone an iPhone? Cause one of our members was desperately trying to get that very song as a ringtone, but his iPhone wouldn’t let him.

I guess that means that I was just a smarter and more intuitive 9 year old than you were! :umad2:
Lol,
JK! I definitely agree that the censor job clouds the significance of the scene and is an all around nuisance :Cheeks: - September 13, 2012 at 1:22 AM

I don’t know how to explain it. You are right that the ONSCREEN evidence would indicate that she is merely injured, yet, for me at least, the context of her actions and the “spirit of 1000 knights” comment from azaka, combined with the overall feel and tone of the scene drove home that her life was slipping away and that she could very well have died.

That is bizarre, because even as a 9 year old, I clearly understood that she had either died or was very near death. Even without all the blood, I felt that the weight of that scene still hit home with full force, so much so that I was devastated and desperate to catch the remaining episodes to see if she survived. Ryo-Ohki’s shriek of despair is still pretty jarring and haunting to this day…
