Dude, I still use VHS tapes! I honestly think they are a superior medium.
Oh man…. that whole story is being played to death in my state (PA). It’s getting a bit tiresome to be honest. Anyway, to continue that mood with a great song… [BBvideo 425,350]

SKT takes place 15 years after the events of GXP if I remember correctly. In GXP, it is mentioned that Reia is pregnant (with Kenshi). And Kenshi is 15 years old in SKT. - June 27, 2012 at 2:55 PM

Hey everyone, I hope that summer is finding you all well. I recently re-read the final story from the NNFT series, the one where Ryoko and Tenchi are forced to confront Ryoko’s dark past. I think this small capstone story is one of the Okuda manga’s finest moments. Not only does it give us one of the most emotional and tender moments between these two characters, it also takes the series to its conclusion with extraordinary style and grace. They did not know at the time that the series would soon be picked up again as the ANTM! series, and the fact they they chose to bravely “go out” on such a high note shows not only a deep love for the subject material, but for the fans as well. It is this respect for the fans that is at the heart of the Okuda manga’s success, and I just want to thank Hitoshi Okuda, his staff, and the english translators and distributors for giving us such a high quality product. What stories do you guys feel really capture the heart and soul of this great series?

Thanks for telling us a little about yourself Shadi! It’s amazing how familiar I find your story! (I too have gone through old VHS tapes to find Thomas the tank engine and other gems from my childhood!). This is my first forum as well, but I can assure you that the people here are respectful and welcoming :sign: I too remember how great it felt to post in this thread the first time, it gave me the courage and inspiration to start posting everywhere else here, and even start a few threads of my own! I hope that you too will take full advantage of this wonderful forum.

I loved that one! Actually I think most of my favorite Ryoko moments come from the manga. - June 23, 2012 at 1:12 PM

Dang, this thread is getting almost as long as the Ryoko fan thread. I love it! http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg853/scaled.php?server=853&filename=kiyonemakibi0007.png&res=landing " /> Kiyone approves!Anyway, it recently came up in the podcast that Hasegawa’s Kiyone (the original one), as seen in the second Tenchi Movie, is much more calm and level headed than her other iterations. I found this very curious, and I would love to see more of this Kiyone, the Kiyone with a smile on her face and a song in her heart lol.

I suppose it’s high time that I post in this thread. I love Ryoko’s character from the bottom of my heart. As many here have said already, Ryoko captured my heart and imagination from a very young age when I watched Tenchi on Toonami. I’m certain that she was my first real crush, and that she was the standard to which I held all other fictional female characters. For over 10 years I had all but forgotten about Tenchi, remembering only the a handful of the smallest details about the show. Ryoko’s name, face, and character faded from my memory, but I never lost the vague, but intense, emotional connection to her. For a decade I was haunted by the memory of that special character who captured my young heart and mind, and who, unlike every other Tenchi memory, refused to fade into oblivion. The comparison has already been made by other members, but as it was the shadowy memory of Ryoko that brought Tenchi back to reality in the third movie, so it was the unshakeable feelings I held for Ryoko that brought me back to Tenchi Muyo!. Ryoko’s triumph as a character lies in her charisma and depth of character, and while she shares these traits with most of the other characters, the combination of writing, acting, and presentation sets her head and shoulders above the rest. Well, there it is. Here’s to Ryoko, she really is one for the books. TLDR: Love ya babe!
