with50 total episodes. And with a city putting backing funds behind it has me a little concerned about the budget for animation. Will they be able to give us a decently drawn and animated bunch of shorts? Or will it be more along the lines of the static animation used in the DVD special short? Very interesting that the series is being put out under an alternate name – Tenchi Muyo Ai/Tenchi Muyo Love. If I were to take a guess I’d say that Kajishima’s using this as a way to get the characters back into the heads of fans and the Japanese TV audiences. Then, should it prove successful for them, he could use that leverage to shop around and get funding for a true OVA4. Though I wonder just how much involvement he has on this and if this is indeed what he talked about in the Comiket doujin last year. August will have to roll around before we’re sure.
In any case, this is a pretty damn exciting bit of news for Tenchi fans!
kiyonesmile1 Pretty much how I feel. I’m not exactly pumped for it, I really am not sure whether to trust Kajishima again after OVA 3. But it’ll be interesting for sure!

My point exactly.
Not even sure if this type of relationship goes on with Jurai royal family. And I doubt Ryoko is the type of person to share him with her. That’s what bothers me the most about all this

Interesting how this turns out. The children are cute, but I feel this isn’t really canon despite it being Kajishima’s. Hence the title ‘If’ Also can’t say I’m a fan of Tenchi conceiving with Ryoko and Ayeka. The whole premise of the show was those two fighting over him and neither would have accepted this sort of outcome, it was out of character. I mean, THAT WAS WHAT THE SHOW WAS ABOUT, FIGHTING EACH OTHER OVER HIM!!!
Still an interesting outlook, but I don’t really approve. I wonder how Japanese fans feel.

I’m prepared for the flames, but I’ll have to be the combo breaker here. I guess I’m not as hardcore of a Tenchi fan here because although I love the manga, anime, characters and whatnot, this continuation of an incestual polygamy just doesn’t strike a chord with me. I’d rather see him get one of the girls.
It basically throws all the competition over his heart out of the window in favor of [no one is a loser] as opposed to [one winner].
Just my opinion. I don’t care for anything Kajishima releases after OVA 3 despite it being his material.
