    I thought they mentioned a little bit about the ship in TU…. it was a big old cruiser.

    I kind of always thought of it more like the Bebop from Cowboy Bebop.

    I dunno what to tell you Mittens… I can count the Kiyone/Mihoshi fans (the die hards not the here today gone tomorrow types)

    on one hand that I’ve met in my time. Kiyoka being at the top of that food chain.

    You feel like an underserved fan group, come join us dualfans… ;) we share tea and cookies while reminiscing about our

    once great site, forum, and people that were there to fill it.

    Wouldn’t say I’m a fan but I’ve seen a little of it. I felt it was similar to Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999, with some of the other

    shows in that same vein.

    I have to say I saw the dub trailers that funi did while trying to find a download…

    As usual they screwed it up… among other changes, “Please be quiet I’m trying to concentrate!” got turned into “Shut up!”

    which I don’t think fits in that situation. I’d rather stick with the sub.

    I know not everyone enjoys watching animated movies, but having watched Summer Wars I think it’s a movie everyone would benefit from watching. There’s so many things that can be taken from it. It’s about family, even if that family doesn’t get along all the time, you’re still family. It’s about not giving up, you’re not defeated even at the last possible second. It’s about finding that one thing you’re good at and using it to better the world, even if you don’t think it’s that great. It’s about passing on your love to others. It’s maybe even about finding home. It’s stupid and silly, serious and tense. It’s a fun ride. So I recommend it with a resounding Koi-Koi! I suggest the subs from http://www.goodanime.net/summer-wars but you’ll need a full compliment of ad blockers running.

    Rick (to customer): “Let me call a buddy of mine, he’s an expert when it comes to this kinda’ stuff…”

    *moments later, cut to back room*

    to camera: “Hey I’m not sure Rick, let me get ahold of a guy I know.”

    from phone: “Mochi mochi, this is JGZinv, how can I help you?* “Sorry must have the wrong number”

    “let me try another”

    from phone: “Hey this is Jay” “Sorry wrong number”

    Well there’s only one other person out there.

    from phone: “Hey this is Jinbu” “Sorry wrong number”

    “You know this is the third time you’ve called me right?”

    … … …

    Yeah AX was being promoted as a family friendly con then and quite a few people were irate about that in the “talk to the staff” panel…

    For some reason I thought of Kajishima opening a box and getting socks….

    Then I thought, wait… you could make look-a-like ryoko long socks and they’d sell like hotcakes. 😮
