TechTV was fantastic, I loved all of the various types of tech-oriented programming. EyeDrops for CG animated shorts was such a great segment. Always tuned in for The Screen Savers, followed Kevin Rose, Patrick Norton, Martin Sergeant and some of the others around after they left. Used to listen to a lot of podcasts when I started college and got really into TWiT and all of the side guests. I still refer to Dvorak as John C. Dvorak.org/blog out of memetic habit. I haven’t tuned in for at least two years now though, just had other interests in mind and not as much time to sit down with it. I was really sad to see it fall down the cesspool of G4TechTV. Once most of the personalities left, it just wasn’t TechTV anymore. But they’re all on to bigger and mostly better things now. What a time it was, though.

I have not actually, I need to check this out!
In a place between dreams, the world fades merely to static as our minds prepare to draw the curtain. Static is often thought of as unwanted, harsh noise. Yet it can be melodic and alluring. Rather than just the snow from your TV, it is droplets of rain against a window. A breeze knocking the trees outside of your window around. Waves crashing against the shore. Static Nocturne is an ode to the beauty it possesses, cushioning like a warm and comfortable bed. [BBvideo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFC7OyhaqrA [/BBvideo] - January 13, 2015 at 9:03 PM

TenchiZone is one of the few places I visited online back in the day. I never actively participated in the forums part, but I have memories of visiting the place here and there. Great to have you back! My first internet friend developed Crohn’s Disease in 2005-2006, sorry to hear that you yourself suffer from such. Though, it is good that things are better! Welcome to Tenchiforum, CamCabbit!

Ukinojo92 wrote:So is it possible for anyone with Royal Juraian heredity to communicate and access any tree and ask for their power, like a WiFi connection.
Powers threadYes, though there is a degree of control to it. There is a ceremony for nobility to become partnered with their tree, which we witness Azusa undergoing in Novel Jurai. The trees themselves choose who they wish to partner with, and if one is unable to hear the tree’s voice, then the tree is not theirs.

Hasegawa’s first novel would help us understand, at least through small pieces of evidence, that only Juraian royalty/higher ups hold rights to the usage of trees/powers. Kiyone is revealed to be Jurian, yet does not appear to hold any powers. She also discusses the power struggle between the nobility and the common people of the planet, which could infer both a struggle in the political sense, but one of firepower as well. If the nobles are outnumbered by the sheer amount of civilians, wouldn’t the civilians be able to put up some manner of threat to try and push for greater rights? Similarly, in Kajishima’s novels he seems to only include nobility in the list of eligible Jurians for pairing with a tree. We only get to see them a handful of times, including the death of Mitsuki Amaki, but the trees with power appear to be inaccessible to civilians. This is cross-referenced between both sets of novels in stating that by pairing with a tree, it extends the Jurian Royalty’s lifespan by a considerable amount. Referring back to Hasegawa’s novels, she claims that the average Jurian’s lifespan was around 200 years, whereas a Jurian Royal would be granted 10 times that, often living upwards of 2,000 years.
While I understand a good chunk of your research does come from the Universe continuity, a majority of the evidence we’ll find is contained within the OVA. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, we should assume they follow similar rules.

Karma is an outdated plugin we used to use that has since been replaced by “Likes”. Thanks for catching that.
