The story of “border:2 Ghost Whispers” takes place after Motoko gains her freedom by separating herself from the military’s 501st Secret Unit. Even without Aramaki’s suggestion to make her own unit, Motoko begins assembling members. As this is going on, someone has hacked into the Logicoma. As she transports the machines in order to check them for abnormalities, she is suddenly attacked by an armed unit. Not long after, she meets up with Batou, the man with the “eye that never sleeps,” Ishikawa, a former member of the army who is good at finding information through the Internet, and Borma, an electronic warfare expert.

Avex Marketing is offering the first Blu-ray Boxes for the 117-episode Galaxy Express 999 television anime series (1978) starting March 5, 2014. There will be seven boxes (two on March 5, two on July 25, one on August 22, and two on December 19) for 28,000 yen (about US$290) each.

The television anime will get noise/color corrections, Seigen Ono’s audio mastering, and other improvements. The final box will include a compilation episode, six Internet anime episodes, and the extras from the previous DVD release (without the new mastering that the television anime itself is getting): the first episode preview, clean opening and ending animation sequences, and the 3D CG Glass no Clair Preshow.

People who pre-order all seven boxes will receive a bonus Blu-ray Disc with the 2007 anime shorts “Galaxy Express 999: The Starry Sky is a Time Machine: The Solar System and the Extinction of the Dinosaurs” and the 2009 “Ginga Tetsudo 999: Diamond Ring no Achira e” short.

The past two were contractually obligated to have theatrical releases, no reason to think this one would be an exception.

That episode of OVA 3 did it to me not only because of the info-dump and crazy plot-twists, but because of that jarring and completely uncalled for time-skip between eps.5 & 6. The gang hadn’t even met Z yet at the end of ep.5, but then ep.6 starts us off right-smack in the middle of their climactic battle. I seriously thought I’d accidentally skipped over an episode the first time I watched it.

Why does almost everyone skip the scene after the ED credits? smh

She’s had 700 years to get over it, as well.

you’d think there would be hostility between them… but apparently not since she refers to him as “honorable grandfather” when asking to use his phone in ep7.

Honey vs. Vinegar, y’know.(even then, she’s overdoing it) ;)

I haven’t seen the Utena TV series, so maybe all of this actually makes perfect sense, but somehow I highly doubt it…

    O, ye of little faith… ;)
