Thinking about it now, cow and chicken actually made me laugh quite a bit. Any now when i look back on it, it had alot of adult humor in it. - July 8, 2012 at 7:25 PM

chucklocker wrote:I remember the very first cartoon I watched growing up in the mid 90’s was Megaman. I was obsesses with that show and still have a few episodes of it taped with 90’s commercials and everything. After that it was Beast Wars which was great. Then I discovered the wonders of Kids WB and began my lifelong obsession with Superman, Batman, and the Justice League. Throw in Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, and Pokemon and I was a cartoon obsessed 9 year old primed and ready for the Toonami revolution in 2000.
Very good choices, and i like how you blended it all in to lead you up to Toonami haha. I also forgot to add All that and Amanda Show. I always wanted to be on all that as a kid but sadly…I didnt.

Chuck! Thanks so much for getting me hooked on these. Im currently on Volume 3 of the first series you linked me too. Like we were saying before, its just like watching new Tenchi stuff. Exactly what I wanted, new Tenchi stuff with the same great roots. I had a quick question though. In the first and second volume they all fight a guy named Yakage, he mentions a few times that he is testing Tenchi (the sword and him) and that Kagato was one of the tests. So these stories take place in he Universe timeline or OVA1? Also, does this is also suggest that it is after Tenchi had fought with Kagato? - July 8, 2012 at 6:31 AM

I always thought it was Hilarious when her and Ryoko were fighting over Tenchi. The best line I thought she had during all these escapades was when she said “I’ll wash and wash… and present myself to Tenchi in this beautiful skin… and he’ll say, “Ayeka, you’re so beautiful.” That one always made me laugh just by how she said it. :fight:

So I just wanted to let the forum know my thoughts on Tenchi. Tenchi is a character I envy, emulate, admire, and root for. Ever since seeing him on Toonami all those years ago I always wanted to be more like him many ways. The respect he has for the girls, his attitude in the face of trouble, and his ability to grow and become a better person to all. These things I felt would help me in life most. After re-watching the series a few more times I still love Tenchi. I hope to get a costume of him (either Light Hawk Tenchi or normal) for Halloween this year. Other than those quick comments I just wanted to say he definitely deserves to be the main character of my favorite Anime. - June 28, 2012 at 3:59 AM

OMG please tell me you have means to transfer that to YouTube or something, with the commercials and everything!
Also, not to sound rude or anything, but if you’re twenty now, you were twelve in 2004, and Tenchi was off the air for a long time. Oh, and Toonami began to marginally get worse, but there’s probably a thread for that somewhere. Of course, unless you wrote that in 2004 going through the tapes beforehand. It seems I wasn’t the only one still using VHS tapes in 2004…
At this point i have no capture device. Trying to invest in an HD PVR when i get some spare cash and a better computer. And yeah my math was off haha.

Hello everyone! I finally get a chance to put some info on myself. I said I was going to do this a long time ago but with school, work, and family occupying my time I did not have the chance. I take this little time I have now in between Tenchi Universide episodes to tell you all about myself.
My name is Shadi. Pronounced Shad-eee. I am 20 years old and live in southern California. I got into Tenchi when I first saw it on Toonami back in the day. It was my first anime I had ever seen. I instantly fell in love with it. Now through the years my love for the show had not died but just been placed on the side for school, sports, women, family, etc. About 6 months ago I had found a box in my room filled with VHS tapes from my past. Going all the way to my young childhood with my Thomas of the tank engine tapes and etc. I found these recordable VHS tapes marked in my 12 year old handwriting that said “Best Show Ever” I was really curious what was on them and behold Tenchi Muyo OVA 1 on the first VHS I dug up. I then found the forum on YouTube watched the whole series again. Joined the forum (My first forum) and have met alot of you. I honestly cannot wait to get more involved in this great community and look forward to talking to more of you!
Just some personal stuff about me. I love sports. Cant get enough of them. I love going to the beach. I am currently in college studying Political Science. Fav Tenchi characters. Tenchi. Ryoko. Washu. Yosho. Nobuyuki. The guardians. Kiyone. Sasami. Basically the whole cast. and yeah…please feel free to ask if you wanna know more about me! Sorry for the long winded post. This feels amazing to finally post on this thread. I hope you can all put up with my forum noobness and teach me what you can about Tenchi.
Thanks again!
