    At the risk of losing an eye, I’d like to point out that being a fan isn’t about material possessions. It’s about a deep appreciation for the original work itself that inspired the purchase of a collection of merchandise. Although, I feel that way mostly because I’ve never been much for the material. Anyway, my collection consists of the OVA, Univers, and TiT DVDs, along with a newly acquired Ryoko costume and wig. Also, I believe the fact that we all devote time to the Tenchiforum in itself serves as proof of fandom. :washu:

    I agree. I do definitely enjoy seeing TOM and his introductions and commentary again, but there’s no difference at all other than that between the Adult Swim line up and the current Toonami lineup. It needs some kind of a change in programming to actually reinforce that Toonami is back again and also attract more viewers who have gotten used to the same old stuff from Adult Swim. They’re usually pretty consistent with keeping their regular non-anime line-up fresh, but when it comes to Saturday nights, we get the same stuff for months at a time.

    As Chuck said, it is understandable considering that they might have a bit larger fanbase in Asia…a bit…and given Southeast Asia’s proximity to anime mecca, I’d be willing to bet that just about everyone knows what it is even if they don’t watch it.

    I do think it’s a bit unfair, though, that they get a full channel overseas despite the noise we all made when Toonami was canned and the fact that there is a large enough fanbase for it to be profitable in North America.

    Well, I just finished Highschool of the Dead and now I’m focusing more on Blood +. Next in the queue after that is Darker than Black!

    I’m watching the dub. Netflix is a little wierd with anime; some things are dubbed and some things are only available with subtitles.
