    Also, my “review” (if you can even call it that) of Eva 3.0 has evolved into something much more long and detailed than I originally planned, but I’m still plugging away at it. Hopefully I’ll be up before too much longer.

    It took me almost three months but I’m glad to finally be resuming Star Blazers! There’s a certain kind of itch that can only be scratched by retro cartoons. My itch was getting very… uh, itchy? But Star Blazers definitely hits the spot. I guess you could say its just the itch ointment I was looking for…

    Well, that got… weird. Definitely not the best analogy I’ve come up with 😳 😆

    Anywho, onward to the actual episode!

    I don’t think I’ve talked about it before, but one thing I’ve always loved about this show was the wispy, dramatic, and extremely destructive explosions that seem to dissolve or evaporate the building, ship, planet, etc that gets blown up. I suppose its merely a product of a bygone era in animation where everything was meticulously drawn by hand. You certainly don’t see animated explosions like that nowadays.

    Man, Invidia is quite the manipulator isn’t she? She basically seems to be running the whole operation from behind the scenes!

    Chapter 1: Proclaiming that they themselves or their plans, schemes, ambitions, loyalties, weapons, bases, spaceships, etc are invincible.

    Translation: “We, and everything associated with us and/or created by us is most definitely NOT invincible and the good guys will most likely make short work out of us/it.”

    The new Sailor Moon premieres in JULY!

    It’s also been confirmed by producer Atsutoshi Umezawa that this will be a DBZKai/FMA:Brotherhood-esque reboot that closely follows the original manga.

    Toonami’s success can’t really be chalked up to a single movie. Eva 2.22 did well, but it didn’t get earth-shattering numbers or anything. As the Toonami crew have stated many times, Toonami has been doing fine since it returned. Its currently in no danger of being cancelled.

    And here’s the collection of FMA: Conqueror of Shamballa bumps. Oddly, during the “Now, next, later” bits they referred to it as “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Shamballa”. Were they too lazy to backspace “Brotherhood” lol?

    FUNimation started announcing the first of their simulcasts for the new year and decided to drop a special announcement on us! They’ve licensed the live-action Space Battleship Yamato movie!
