If all goes well, we may not have to wait too much longer for Geminar. https://twitter.com/azabaro/status/287411052457648128

You piqued my interest in Blassreiter… until you said it was like Tokko, one of my least favorite anime of all time. I felt that it was one of the worst pieces of crap I’ve ever wasted my time watching. Anything else you can tell me about Blassreiter or is it so much like Tokko that I just shouldn’t bother with it?

Heres an amazing Giant Robo AMV, even better than the one I posted in the Overlooked Gems thread. But be warned, this one does have some spoilers in it. [BBvideo 525,350]

Right now Amazon seems to have the cheapest prices. OVA 3 (Anime Classics release) and GXP (S.A.V.E. release) are both $14. The Movie Collection combo pack is $33 (Best Buy also has the movies for this price).

Well Chuck, I finally watched Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato… and was absolutely blown away winfaceemoticon It exceeded my expectations in almost every way, the quality of the animation, the music, the suspense, the emotional ending. I admit, I teared up a bit at the end, and was shocked by
I’m also glad they portrayed Desslock/Dessler assome of the death scenes (especially the Doctor and IQ9), and unsurprisingly Sandor went out like a boss (I wouldn’t have had it any other way).a somewhat respectable and honorable person instead of a generic “I’m evil and I’m going to kill you all for no reason” bad guy with no adequate motivation.
There are only two or three things I wish they had done but didn’t, the first is But those are small gripes when compared to how fantastic this movie was.showing the main characters families. Not one mention of them was made in the movie, no brief shots of weeping parents or siblings (or cheering, depending on the scene), nothing like that despite them being one of the Yamato crews main motivations in the TV series. A mention or shot of Kodai/Widlstar’s brother, Starsha or Iscandar would’ve been nice, or at least someone pointing out how much of a resemblance Teresa has to Starsha. I also wanted to see the villains faces when they realized “Holy crap, they’re gonna ram us!”, although I suppose that would’ve intruded on the emotional ending sequence.I think I can safely add this to the list of my FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME (anime or otherwise) without a second thought. I can’t say that about most movies I watch, but this one is special.
awesomenessplz

Uh… no, not Youtube. Pretty sure this would only apply to downloading it for personal use. This is all a big grey area though, and as wwwwhhhhoooo said the US likely doesn’t have any such law.
