    Someone previously posted in this thread that they had heard rumors of some other company was thinking of picking up the Okuda series’ if I remember correctly. Anyway, I have no experience whatsoever with VIZ or any other manga distributor, so I can’t say what I think the chances are of this series getting re-released, but I can only imagine that the rise in Tenchi awareness due to the FUNI re-releases can only help our cause.

    Anyway, I apologize to you Nobuyuki, it seems that your questions kinda got plowed under the holiday season rush. I was kind of hoping that JG or someone else who has read the manga more recently than I have would jump in and answer your questions, but JG is understandably busy working on his super awesome SECRET PROJECT, so he is forgiven lol. Anyway, when I next re-read the manga I will make a note to compile a list of elements that I feel inspired Kajishima and vice versa.

    Anyway, I hope that the new year brings lots of good times for my fellow Tenchi manga fans, and hopefully lots of new readers!

    So have they released the voice cast yet? I’m pretty curious to see who they got to voice the characters.

    Indeed, cool thread idea! It’s super cool that it was TLF that brought you to our forum Makoto!

    Of course, I am a fan of TLF (although not as big as WHO obviously lol) and I consider their best work to be the Daughter of Darkness movie abridged. Great stuff!

    As for other abridged series, I’ve seen the bigger abridger’s, like Little Kuriboh’s and Team Four Star’s, stuff, but it didn’t make that big of an impression on me. I am a fan of Megamii33’s Sailor Moon Abridged series, largely for the hilariously over-the-top portrayal of the characters and the merciless way in which they make fun of the glaring inconsistencies and dialog fails of the English dub.

    I’ve actually had the idea of doing a Star Blazers Abridged for a long time, but seeing as I’m pretty much the only fan I have access to, and my video/sound editing skills are nonexistent, I’m fairly certain it’s just a pipedream lol.

    Whoa, whoa, whoa, when you say you’re covering “Japanese stuff” does that include the doujins and novels? Because I was under the impression that these were part of my presentation material. The general description of my segment was the Printed World of Tenchi Muyo. Now with the doujins I could certainly use some help as youve seen WAY more of them than I ever have, but I’ve got the Kajishima OVA novels pretty well in hand on my own. I should have a solid outline of my part by the next time we all meet on mumble, so I think we should all work it out then.

    So I FINALLY got around to reading this, but it was certainly worth the wait! I must say I do thouroughly enjoy these spurts of creativity you have! This was a triumph of descriptiveness and a prime example of “less is more.”. I was particularly entertained by the very visceral description of the transformation. The line about her veins searing throughout her body was a very good touch. I think this exercise is very good for your other writings as it shows that you can change up your style. If you do decide to work on this again feel free to call on my editorial skills, and I promise that I’ll get to it much faster this time! :P

    And I now nominate Chucklocker as this forum’s Remington Steele/Anthony DiNozo. :D

    (Two of the biggest fictional movie otakus in tv history.)

    Lol, thanks for the vote of confidence ML! Unfortunately I’m going to have to let you down as I have neither seen Ol’Yeller, nor have I heard of Remington Steele or Anthony DiNozo before lol 😆

    Anyway, to answer your question Makoto, I am a bit weird in that I don’t really cry at sad movies. Strangely enough it’s the inspirational and joyful scenes in movies that make me cry like a baby! The best two examples I can think of off the top of my head is the splashdown scene at the end of the movie Apollo 13 (THE movie of my childhood, btw, and one of my favorite movies of all time!) and the miracle after the passion/crucifixion scene at the end of Ben-Hur (THE best movie of all time in my opinion).

    I’m cool with answering questions about what movies I like, and believe me I can go on forever lol, but I really wanna hear what everyone else hear has to say about movies too! Surely I’m not the only movie buff or film fan here, so feel free and take the conversation in whatever (movie related) direction you guys want!

    Two words my fellow Star Blazers: Yamato Podcast!

    No, not from Tenchiforum, but from some diehard Yamato fans out there in cyberspace! I’ve always had visions of doing a Yamatocast of my own one day, and this is a very cool and groundbreaking development in Yamato fandom history! The first in a planned series, this episode is devoted to summaries of the basic plot/characters, and trips down memory lane with reminiscing about the early days of Star Blazers/Yamato. I am greatly anticipating the future casts, as they are expected to be filled with appearances by big wig guests from the Yamato fandom like the great Tim Eldred and August Ragone! They’ve said that they hope to bring in as many fans of Yamato as possible in on these casts, and I have high hopes of taking part in one of these some day! Anyway, take a listen for some entertaining and informative Yamato fun/knowledge.

    @WisperG
    : Thanks for sharing the AWESOME vid for the next episode. Needless to say, it looks unbelievably epic! Gamilon vs. The Comet Empire!!!!! awesomenessplz

    Also, thanks for sharing the update about poor Tim Eldred’s late Starblazers.com. Yeah, I’ve been following that situation for awhile now, and it’s a great shame that the Japanese office of Voyager Entertainment shut them down, they were without a doubt THE hub of Yamato knowledge in the west and they will be sorely missed. I hope that Tim gets the new site up and running soon, because as it stands the site still needs some major work.
