Hey everyone! Well, Otakon was great, and after spending horrendous sums of money here are the goodies I bought while I was there!:

    The Ryoko pencilboard iheartitplz

The Ayeka pencilboard (on the reverse of the Ryoko one)

The relatively hard to come by Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind DVD

And finally….. These epic vintage Space Battleship Yamato posters!

All in all, a pretty successful haul I’d say for my first con :D

Wait a second… they’re calling it “War on Geminar”? isawitplz

Lol, somebody’s been out of the loop I’d say! Indeed, the official name that Funimation has gone with is “Tenchi Muyo!: War on Geminar.” The “Tenchi Muyo!” is obviously tacked on to boost the sales. As to the “War on Geminar” part, the best we can come up with is that it is more “exciting” than Saint Knight’s Tale and is much more pronounceable than Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari :Cheeks:

This may be a tad bit obvious at this point, but…..

    War on Geminar!

I know, I have already seen it as ISM, but I just can’t wait to see it as WoG.

I am also REALLY looking forward to Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection.

This will be the first new Yamato material released in the west since the early 80’s and I have high hopes that it could be a rallying point for new Matsumoto releases in the future.

Excellent designs JG! The hotsprings one is by far my favorite. If ever there is a need for an “Official” Tenchiforum T-shirt, this one has my vote.

I totally get that Kiyoka! Indeed, the vibrancy and uniqueness of many of the manga’s stories lends very strongly to the creative tendencies of fanfic authors. I suppose that it speaks to the imagination of the reader who instinctively wonders about every last detail of the story. I think it not only reflects well on the quality of the writer, but also on the quality of the audience, both of whom clearly respect each other greatly.

I’m in (as you already know lol). As for topic ideas, I havent a clue. Probably something about how the fandom has evolved and hung on all these years.

I tend to suspect Rea is more involved in Kenshi going over, but there’s nothing to base this on other than personal feelings, which could easily be wrong.

That is something I hadn’t considered before, but it makes a lot of sense! That would also have great implications in the larger universe as far as Rea is concerned.

I would also love to see a sequel!

For all who are interested, this is what Nobuyuki and I are referring to:

Yamato Resurrection was a brand new animated Yamato adventure that took place two decades after the events of the final movie. It was HUGE in Japan (it helped lead to the success of the EVEN HUGER 2010 live action film), and now Funimation have secured the rights to dub and release it in the west. The first new Yamato material released in the west since the early 80’s!!!!!!! This is big, BIG, news for all Yamato and Matsumoto fans, as it might very well signify the beginning of a “Resurrection” (pun totally intended) of classic Matsumoto anime in the west!
