As far as classics go, several movies come to mind, but I think my favorite is John Carpenter’s Halloween. Everything about that movie is an example of how the extra bit of ingenuity and effort that goes into making low-budget independent films can actually outshine the expensive blockbusters. Not to mention the huge impact it’s had on our pop culture. Pretty much everything about the horror genre since 1978 can be traced back to Halloween in some way and the basic concept of a normal kid going crazy is a very possible one and one I find creepy as hell to think about.

In light of the events in Boston, this is another one that came to me. I really can’t stand it when something bad happens and rather than coming together, people immediately start pointing fingers, placing blame on some random unknown party, and starting fights over the issue without knowing a damn thing.

So, anyone for animated films (non anime)? My favorite has always been The Lion King, but I also love anything else from the Disney Renaissance era.

I’ve got several that I rewatch regularly: Black Lagoon, Outlaw Star, Tenchi, and DBZ.

I’m currently at the beginning of Darker than Black: season 2. It’s cool in that the action sequences are nicely done, but the story can be a bit difficult to follow. Anyway, once I’m done with this, I’m going to look into Glass Fleet.

Unfortunately, it also means that for those of us who have to(or would prefer to wait) for the price to come down, there are about three years post release date until titles stop being launched on PS3.
