    Yeah I have to agree: covers are not only rather plain, but as Silver said, they do look like freakin’ bootlegs! Oh well, it will just make the original releases that much more collectible and sought after by fans.

    those who already own them, clutch them tightly!

    & the important thing is that the content is what it is (excluding extras, I’m not even going to think about getting my hopes up for anything remarkable in that department being included on these) & seeing as how I am short one complete series of ‘Tenchi in Tokyo’ I just might pick up funimation’s “ugly” boxed set (provided pricing makes it worth it vs originals).

    This is really really good! I do love good ol’ pencil sketching myself, nice to see others utilizing it as well (not that I don’t love computer graphic/tablet drawings of course).

    I think you really got her eyes down, which is really imo one of her best physical features–very blue, don’t see that in Tenchi too much.

    Good ideas for topics Magee, some of them sound similar to ones we’ve covered (we’ve had casts kind of comparing/contrasting ova’s & universe) but since we’ve had specific topics regarding Universe, and in the future we’ll be doing Tokyo, that will then be an opportune time to compare the series after having discussed them in such detail (plus it would be a good idea to give folks newer to the cast the opportunity to comment on core components of Tenchi series that may have been previously highlighted).

    As always, feel free to list any more ideas/suggestions for future casts, they’re all welcome! Please use this thread to do so, and whenever we know the time/date of an upcoming cast, it will be posted here:

As you may or may not already be aware, Funimation has made some BIG announcements regarding the series Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari or Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar (previously known to the Tenchi fandom community as Saint Knightā€™s Tale) recently at Otakon 2012.     But before we get too far ahead of ourselves: you may have noticed several of the links mention or link to ā€œTenchiforum.ā€ What the heck is Tenchiforum, you say? Wellā€¦

    Weā€™re an active community of Tenchi fans (and its ā€œcousinā€ series Dual!, Photon and El-Hazard) providing a place of common ground for fans to share their experiences and fan-made works (including fanfiction, fan art and cosplay). For years, Tenchiforum has been a great place to keep the memory of our favorite anime alive while making friends along the way. We are fan-made, fan-supported, and entirely non-profit, and exist solely to preserve the name of Tenchi Muyo! and to provide opportunities for fan involvement in a welcoming way.

    Which brings us to the point of our message (sorry if we rambled a bit here and there):

    January 18th ā€“ 20th (thatā€™s a weekend, Fri ā€“ Sun) 2013 is the anime convention Ohayocon: 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. For the first time ever, we are looking to start an official Tenchiforum/Tenchi fan panel at this upcoming venue to spread the word about Tenchi and its latest offshoot, War on Geminar (and of course, to have fun!). We are in the process of scheduling and coordinating this exciting venture, and would love to have as many Tenchi fans (especially cosplayers!) in attendance as possible.

    If you live anywhere nearby, or just happen to be in the neighborhood (or you donā€™t mind traveling long distances) weā€™d love to see you there!

    Good idea JG. If we go the ‘dummy account’ route perhaps leave that up to Dagon to create a general ‘tenchiforum’ username account (personally or assigning someone to do so).

    As far as a form letter, I could help toss out some drafts if someone outlines plainly for me the gist of what we want it to say, or I could do some revising/editing here or there if someone else wants to do a first draft.
