Nobuyuki, if I lived near you I’d treat you to a huge bowl of your favorite ice cream just for mentioning Bone, my favorite non-Japanese comic book series of all time :D

Coincidentally I asked Seven Seas about these 3 novels on their Tumblr afew days ago. Heres what they said, though it doesn’t paint a very bright future for the possibility of the nevels being licensed. And just FYI, I totally forgot Kajishima also wrote those GXP novels, though I only intended to ask about the 3 old ones anyways.

    Quote:

Q:I’ve got a question about Tenchi light novels. I hear series length often cited as a major reason why LNs are often too risky to be licensed, but I was curious how much age played into this too. There are quite a few Tenchi novels out there but only 3 were written by Kajishima himself and considered canon. Only 3, but they’re all from the late 90’s. Do you think there’s any chance at this point that anyone (not necessarily 7Seas) might consider at least picking up the those 3 Tenchi novels?

As a huge Tenchi fan, I begged and begged for those three novels back when we were actively going after light novels for our light novel imprint. And then the market crashed and we couldn’t even put out half the light novels we had the rights for. But even then, Tenchi-Muyo! has never really done that well in print (and it’s a very old property now, too), so they’re not really something we could put out in today’s market. —AA

I see that ANB posed another (albeit not entirely serious) question regarding Tenchi novels shortly after I did.

Whoa, wait. Is that Tenchi’s stepmom on the right?

What kind of role does she play in the overall Tenchiverse? I know they hinted at some things in Geminar but I wasn’t really sure what to make of it.

Just watched episode 1 of season 2. Old villains, new villains (well, in a relative sense as I’ve already watched Farewell), new ships and mysterious alien messages. Its already shaping up to be quite the sequel. As usual, the bad guys go about underestimating the Star force, also unsurprisingly they quickly brush off Desslok’s warnings. Its not hard to guess how things will turn out for them in the end 😉

Nova, Sandor and IQ-9 were on Earth right? So that power-overload reached all the way there? But the new ship didn’t seem to have been affected by it, unless they were just quick to fix the problem too?

I saw that on Saturday night. Its quite the epic promo isn’t it? Toonami’s editors really outdid themselves this time.

Can’t wait until next weekend :D

This happened afew weeks ago, but Tim Eldred was on the Anime World Order podcast recently.

Also Chuck, I’m happy to inform you that I’ll FINALLY be starting the 2nd Star Blazers series within the next week or two. I can’t believe its been like like 9 months since I watched Farewell. I had such a large backlog of anime DVDs at the time that I didn’t want to start streaming another series. It took longer than I would’ve liked, but now I’m ready to sink my teeth into more Yamato. Like last time, I’ll be posting my thoughts and opinions on select episodes.

    Can’t wait to start watching ! bth_iamhappykaboomplz

Where the heck have you been looking for Sasami Stories Chuck? I bought one used from an Amazon seller for less than $10 last year.

Actually, it looks like 2 different sellers have new copies of it listed for just $5 (w/ shipping) right now:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1591161568/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1377323165&sr=8-1&keywords=sasami+stories&condition=new

Unless you have some wierd aversion to Amazon that I’m not aware of, you might want to hop in that deal 😉
