I think one of the recent Kajishima doujinshi shows that Kenshi was HEAVILY trained by Tenchi’s harem. I wish we had a fully translated version of it (I don’t even have a scanned version, much less the original), but from the moment Kenshi was born, all of his “oneesans” took care of him. As such, it is no wonder that he was a kick-arse character from the start.

I like the softer looks of the characters on the actual book cover than the doujinshi cover.

    Jailbait… really… Kajishima… with pics like that we’re to expect a “normal” non-fanservicy show?

*lol* Since when has Kajishima-sensei been afraid of jailbait (lolicon) material? ^_~

There’s also the possibility we were treated to a preview a couple of years ago:

I’d forgotten about this cover. I bet this is from Paradise War.

A Japanese blog is stating that the name of the series will be Paradise War 『パラダイスウォー』.

OK, now to just wait for a very kind soul to provide a translation (of the latest note from Kajishima-sensei). ^_^

BTW, any word on the doujinshi from this Comiket? My anonymous contact hasn’t pinged me yet.

    Not much. Keep browsing. 😉

Heh! I’m just amazed I had time to pop in here at all. I hadn’t made it down that far yet. :P

And now to move over there…

I agree with Dagon that Hasegawa really understood how the characters work and what makes them tick.

Well, she was certainly surprised by Kajishima-sensei’s vision on characters, especially Washu. She just saw Washu as a loon, not a choushin.

I kind of wish that she had been the script writer for OVA 2&3. I wonder what kind of state the Tenchi franchise would be in nowadays if she had stayed.

Actually, she only wrote two scripts from what I understand and I think did some polish work (the entire story was Kajishima-sensei’s from what I understand). However, her vision for Aeka wasn’t the one Kajishima-sensei had. From what I understand, Kajishima-sensei saw Aeka as a stronger character who was willing to accept Yosho’s death and move on while Hasegawa-sensei saw Aeka as a more tragic character, and that’s what ended up in the final script.

Too bad more of her novels were never made into movies.

Actually, I always wondered why the entire light novel series wasn’t made into a TV series. It would have been cheaper than movies.
