I’m thrilled to see so many people getting in on collecting hard copies of this awesome manga! Please, by all means, continue to share with us your progress in acquiring them and where good deals might be had! I’m still hopeful that we may someday see a reprinting if the manga industry ever manages to pick itself back up… Anyway, I figure that it’s high time that we get this thread rolling again and take stock of any new fans we may have gained in the intervening months (and I know you’re out there… 😎 )! So if you’re reading this and have read some or all of the manga but haven’t posted before, this is your time to shine! Tell us what stood out most to you, or something you really enjoyed (or didn’t enjoy for that matter), or even something totally random like “WTF was up with that story with the rotating sushi restaurant?!”And for faithful posters/followers of this thread, I invite you all to think of one moment or story or arc of the manga that you would use to get somebody who may be unsure of the manga to give it a try. For me, I would probably have to for one of the really sad stories (probably the Mitsu story) to really drive home how raw the emotions can come across and how vulnerable and three-dimensional the characters are. What moment/story/arc would you use to get somebody into the manga with?

Sweet picture Dagon! I always find it so ironic that Washu looks so great in the promotional art for Tokyo, like she really got the love and attention she deserved from the artists, but in the show itself she spends nearly all of the show off screen… - October 22, 2013 at 7:44 PM

Although I would have loved to see them each get their own full book like the other characters. Goodness knows these gals deserve it! - October 22, 2013 at 7:32 PM

I would imagine that as the Tsunami portion of herself manifests in her as she ages that she will become more aware of her powers and abilities as a chousin. One can only assume that this includes access to the family of Jurai trees and the network they form. Quite an interesting thought ML, thanks for bringing it up - October 22, 2013 at 7:29 PM

^Dude, spoilers! Use that spoiler button, it’s there for a reason! (Lol, I’ve already read all of the EU and pretty much concur entirely with your appraisal, but others might not want to know the grisly details…) Anyway, I guess I’ll be “that guy” and go with The Great Gatsby. Okay, maybe it isn’t my FAVORITE novel of all time, but it stands out as the prime example of everything I love in a novel. I also love Moby Dick, yes the middle portion of it is basically a collection of essays about whaling, but the story burried underneath is one for the books (especially that ending…)! American novels in general tend to top out my list, but I do have an extreme fondness for the novels of Charles Dickens, with my favorite probably being David Copperfield. I just love the amazing, and seemingly endless, stream of vibrant and compelling characters that populate his stories.

For me, feminine anime villainy can be summed up in one character: http://www.stomptokyo.com/img-m3/mononoke-driver.jpg" /> Lady Eboshi. She’s not evil, she’s just trying to take over the world! Lol, in all seriousness though, I have always loved how her character’s motivations were always
justnoble enough to justify her means (at least in her view). She was a phenomenal counter to the brash self-assured righteousness of San and the determined impartiality of Ashitaka. Plus, if that wasn’t enough, the woman basically killed the “God” of her world without batting an eye! - October 11, 2013 at 1:16 PM

Holy crap! I have this doujin and I never made the connection before, but damn, there it is in black and white! That’s very cool.
Back on topic, what if Washu rejoined the galactic scientific community? I mean, she seems to be almost cloistering herself off from the rest of the galaxy. What would happen if the universe’s greatest scientist decided to step back into the spotlight and take on students again?
