My first choice would totally be Petrea! After that it would be Sherry Lynn (aka Kiyone, Sasami, Tsunami) and my questions would mainly be about the process of dubbing the show; what it was like on the set and how the cast related with each other.

Welcome nerevar! Indeed, as Dagon rightly put our forum is alway is always expanding and bettering itself, so some parts of the site are not yet up and running, but it’s truly amazing how far we have come even in the small amount of time that I have been here! So welcome, make yourself at home, and feel free to share and chat with us whenever you feel like!

Man that is AWESOME! I bet you’ll win a few contests with that! Hopefully, if I can get a costume thrown together I will post one of me in this thread too. Also, don’t worry about not being around as much as you used to, we are all feeling the increased pressure of school/work that fall brings. I’m thrilled that you still care so much about our community here though, and you’ll always have a spot here shadi!

While no honor bestowed upon men by governments can do justice to the tremendous impact Leiji Matsumoto has made on the world, I’d say that this comes pretty close! Thank you so much Mr. Matsumoto for sixty amazing years of quality, often earth shattering, entertainment! Keep up the good work!

I approve of this thread! I loved both Mitsukis for so many different reasons, but mostly because between the two of them they covered so much ground characterization wise. It’s difficult to pick a favorite, but if I had to I would definitely pick Mitsuki S. Being a Tenchi fan first, I like my female characters with a lot of pep and force of personality, and Mitsuki S fits that to a T! So without further delay, I will yield the thread to my fellow Mitsuki fans, and christen this thread with its very first pics!

so here’s the only way to go, Podomatic pro

This sounds like the best option. I for one will chip in for this, because I believe the podcasts are this forum’s most effective recruiting tool (it’s how you guys got me at least! :D)

Anyway, excellent job everybody who was in on the Tokyo cast! It was a great cast! And, most importantly, its now full speed ahead to the Manga Cast! :Cheeks:

Sorry for the necropost, but I just wanted to let the people here know that on Saturday Oct. 20 (That’s THIS SATURDAY!) at 3:00pm eastern time, we will be recording the next Tenchicast which will be about Tenchi in Tokyo! There were some great topics and points brought up in this thread by people who clearly know their stuff and are passionate about this series, and I just wanted to let everyone know that you are all welcomed, nay, encouraged to take this opportunity to join in a conversation that will be heard throughout the larger fandom! If anyone needs info about how to go about joining the cast feel free to ask one of the mods or support staff.

like most people here have negative things to say

Idk Kiyoka….. If you think this cast is going to just be a bash fest for TiT, I suspect you will be quite surprised.

Read the review of Yamato 2199 at Anime.com yesterday.Interesting that both the new anime series and

the live action movie came out at the same time.

I assume you mean that they first started production at the same time, because the live action movie came out in January of 2010, while the new series only just started to be released in the summer of 2012. Yeah, it is interesting that the creators of 2199 had to work with the success and innovations of the live action movie hanging over them, and in many ways I can see where they may have drawn inspiration from it.

Did Sci Fi/SyFy ever air any version of Yamato under either that name or Starblazers?

Yes as a matter of fact they did. As WisperG here can tell you firsthand, Syfy aired episodes of Star Blazers late at night in its killed-too-soon anime block.
