Soundmonkey44 wrote:I can watch older titles (
late 70’s– early 00’s) and never really get burnt out Ah, a man after my own heart! I LOVE older anime! heck, my second favorite anime of all time after Tenchi is Space Battleship Yamato, the ultimate in classic anime! As for getting burnt out, it’s more on a show by show basis. I just don’t have the stamina to power marathon my way through a show like Sailor Moon that has 200 episodes. For me it comes down to pacing, just as the others have said, and spreading out what I want to watch.
Also, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY concur with your criticisms of modern anime. I really don’t enjoy the heavy use of fanservice (except in shows like High School of the Dead, because sex and zombies/horror go together like peas and carrots
😆 ), and I swear the designs and personalities of most modern characters are all pretty much limited to a small collection of stereotypes. As for the anime fanbase, I really have no exposure outside of Tenchifandom. I have kept myself out of it all for the very reasons you mentioned above.

No, none of the movies did, but I wouldn’t blame someone for mistaking that because that promo is almost unrecognizable as fanmade! - September 16, 2012 at 9:00 PM

Excellent news! And thanks for the heads up Wisper! Well, it looks like I should have waited just a bit longer before dropping $15 on the movie set this summer…. Oh well, I’m just glad we’re getting Blu-Rays!

Welcome to the forum! All that matters is that you’re a tenchi fan now, and I’m sure that means you’ll fit right in! I definitely recommend watching Tenchi Universe, that show is AMAZING! Anyway, feel free to post wherever you find something interesting, and feel free to chat with us whenever you want! Again, welcome - September 14, 2012 at 2:51 PM

Yeah but youre going to have to look VERY hard for them and you can bet that you wont find all of them. Also you wont find any of what the guys above are talking about, only the Okuda Manga. If that is what you are looking for the I would suggest hitting the used book stores, library used book sales, and otherwise non-mainstreet book dealers (no barnes and noble). Of course to actually stand the best shot at getting your hands on them you need to look around ebay.com and amazon.com marketplace. INTJ- Pretty much means I’m a genius! hawrhawrplz Lol but seriously, I find this stuff to be really interesting and Im glad that you made a thread out of it Thorn! If I had to say which character of the show is also an INTJ it would probably be…. Kagato (OVA) fyeahplz

- in reply to: How Would You Rate The U.S. Anime Companies?
No love for Manga Entertainment? I don’t know very much at all about anime, let alone the anime industry, but Manga Entertainment has had its hands in a TON of classics throughout the years. I’m hoping that Dagon (or anyone knowledgeable) will be able to give more info, but as far as I can tell ME has played a part in such momentous animes as in co-producing such shows as Ghost in the Shell, as well as doing a dub of Akira. They also do a good job of licensing and distributing classic animes such as Lupin III, Macross, and Star Blazers/Yamato (my favorite
). They also run a Youtube Chanel that carries many classic series, which I think is really cool. Remember, I am pretty much a total noob when it comes to anime and the anime industry so if any of the above is incorrect I apologize. I can’t give a rating/review of any of the other companies, because as I said, I’m a noob :Cheeks:
