  • Wow, thanks for all the new info, Nobuyuki! iloveit1

I find the new art direction interesting. I was expecting something akin to what we saw in OVA 3, but it seems as if they have decided to go with a more updated, softer approach to the characters. Even though the characters do look slightly off model and stiff, I really like what I see so far. It reminds me a lot of the art style that was used for Tenichi Muyo In Love 2. It’s almost nostalgic, in a way.

It’s so cool to see that Michie Tomizawa (Sailor Mars!) was chosen to play Mihoshi. I know that wherever she is, Yuko Mizutani would be happy to see the torch passed to her. May she rest in peace.

I’m surprised to say that I’m really looking forward to seeing OVA 4. I was never a big fan of OVA 3, and while I find some things that are interesting about the direction that Kajishima wants to take the series, I’ve been a little turned off by others (namely the whole kids with Ryo-ohki thing.). But seeing all this makes me excited to see what OVA 4 may have in store! mmhmm1

I don’t know if this has been posted here yet, but I adore this fanart of Tenchi and Ryoko:

And here’s another one by the same artist, of Ryoko challenging Urd to a drinking match! iloveit1

First of all, yay for other Korra fans! iloveit1 *gives you a virtual high five*

As far as my feelings are about the finale…gosh, where do I even begin? That finale was an emotional roller coaster, both because of what the characters went through (I don’t want to give away spoilers, but there were some scenes that had me literally on the edge of my seat, holding my breath!), and because this finale represented the absolute end of Avatar. (the end of an era really.)

I think what I enjoyed the most, however, was how much the characters have grown throughout the series, especially Korra: She went from an impetuous teenager, lacking in patience and restraint (not unlike a certain space pirate we know mmhmm1 ), to a strong, compassionate woman who was able to bring her enemy down not by brute force, but through sympathy and understanding. I was disappointed that her connection to her past lives wasn’t reestablished, but I am hopeful that this is something that may be addressed in a comic book series.

As far as shipping goes, it goes without saying that I loved the Zhu li and Varrick bits. Although it did seem a little rushed, (marriage, really?) overall I thought it was sweet, and it was something that I had been hopeful of for a while. Unfortunately the ending was a little bittersweet for me: Although I would have preferred for Makorra to have been established as canon (Mako and Korra’s relationship will always hold a special place in my heart! dawohki1), I do like that the writers left it ambiguous enough that both relationships (Makorra and Korrasami) are possible. I also think it’s pretty cool and groundbreaking that Mike and Bryan decided to heavily imply a “more than friendship” relationship between Korra and Asami could be on the horizon (in a “kid’s show” no less!).

So overall, I really enjoyed the finale and I had a ton of fun watching it! Even though it will be sad to see the Avatarverse go, I look forward to what Mike and Bryan have in store for the future. mmhmm1

I really love the new website design! The layout and color scheme are very calming on the eyes and I really dig the clean, modern look.

The only thing I really miss from the old design was the link at the top of the page for the news section of the website. (The link used to be alongside additional links for “forum”, “media”, and “shop”. Here is a link for further clarification: https://tenchiforum.com/ )

Otherwise, well done you guys! Thanks for all of your hard work! mmhmm1

Just in time for Halloween! woooo1

    “Double, double toil and trouble;

    Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Eye of newt, and toe of frog,

Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,

    Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,

    Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing,—

For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.”

You beat me to the punch with your speculation, evilpii. I was actually thinking along the same lines! blush1

Though, I do wonder why all these extra dimensions would necessarily throw the “world into chaos” (as the series summary describes it). Maybe the fact that they’re all interconnected makes them dangerously unstable?

Even though I was worried about the format of the series, I find I’m also getting used to the 4 minute segments. I agree with you, Soul: With what I’ve seen of episode three, it seems as if the writers have a good handle on how to give us just enough information and suspense to keep us wondering, “What will happen next?”

Thanks so much for your hard work, you guys! This is awesome! iloveit1
