Naturally, many of the sources for Tenchi material are in Japanese, and most of us do not read Japanese. For example, the Shin Tenchi novels are not translated into English, so what should be done about information in these sources? Fortunately, this age has tools for this job. Google Translate, among other tools, can be used to make a rough translation that can be later refined. Why not paste the raw Japanese text and a proposed English translation? This provides full disclosure and opens discussion, though such a translation effort might be best relegated to the Translation Zone,

Moreover, Kajishima has stated that he does not believe that strong female personalities exist….However, this is not a proof that he has said anything to that effect.

Physician, heal thyself. :edit: after mulling it over, I don’t care anymore. I just hate seeing that line yanked out of context and twisted around to impugn Kajishima.

The official website of the late manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori announced on Tuesday that director Jun Kawagoe is helming a new Cyborg 009 anime project. The project celebrates the 50th anniversary since Ishinomori’s original Cyborg 009 manga was first serialized in 1964.

Jun Kawagoe previously directed the 52-episode Cyborg 009 The Cyborg Soldier television anime series, which began in 2001 and ended in 2002. Ishinomori’s official website teases:

“2015. The battles of the 00-numbered cyborgs will continue.”

    If it happens, good.

If it doesn’t, what have you really lost?

First, the Asuka of the Rebuild films isn’t the “real” Asuka. No, no, no, I’m not talking about the sequel/reincarnation/parallel universe theory, I mean she’s not the Asuka we all know and love. The Asuka of the TV series is a deeply conflicted, psychologically twisted, and ultimately self-destructive character. The Asuka of the Rebuild movies, on the other hand, is little more than your run-of-the-mill modern tsundere. Gone are the abandonment and self-worth issues that made her so dynamic in the TV series. Instead, we’re treated to cooking contests with Rei for Shinji’s affection.

On second thought, I suppose it’s possible, but determining the answer would require direct observation.
