  • Hmmm. Then I might have to get this release soon after all if it means a chance of us getting Pretty Sammy, or even better, Magical Project S. They could use the Sasami: Magical Girls Club cast for all I care. I just want that show dubbed!

I just hope that it doesn’t hurt our chances too much considering I got it right from Funi that WoG is a test release.

My opinion on it I’ve stated before… but a c- is low even by my standards.

I know this is a little old, but I’m just curious… what would WoG be a test release for? They have almost all of Tenchi. Maybe it’s for the type of release or something? :?

I thought it was pretty sad in Tenchi Universe episode 9 where Tenchi visits his mother’s grave, and worse, in the flashback when he’s delivered the news that his mother has passed away. It nearly brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. It’s especially sad to me since I had seen “Tenchi in Love” prior to viewing Universe, and had gotten to know Achika as a character, and the movie’s bitter-sweet ending (her knowing she was going to die, but deciding to live her life to the fullest anyway).
I’m currently watching Tenchi Universe for the first time (about to watch episode 10), and the characters I’ve enjoyed the most have definitely been Mihoshi and Kiyone! I loved Kiyone’s debut episode where she thinks Mihoshi was killed, and while I’m sure she was a little sad, the truth is: she was happy! You could tell Mihoshi is such a burden on her. I wonder how different her life would be if she was never paired with Mihoshi.

I’ve seen some people wish Kiyone would be paired with Tenchi… I’m not sure I want that. First of all, I haven’t seen her show any attraction toward Tenchi, or any guy at all, plus, she seems to be independent, more so than any of the other characters, and certainly more than Mihoshi. To me, the fight over Tenchi will always be Ryoko vs. Ayeka. Plus… is it wrong for me to wish for Kiyone to be paired with me?? 😳

    Sorry. Didn’t see that. ;^_^

Alright. Thanks for the tip! :)

I chose to watch things in production order to keep it simple without having to decide which “canon” to tackle next. I probably will end up watching OVA 3 before GXP, since I’m dying to find out how the original series ends. I watched Tenchi in Love, and wasn’t too confused, but I might watch it again after Universe (where I’ve watched episode 1 and loved it). I did watch a couple eps of GXP on Toonami, but stopped when the time slot got shifted to the graveyard. I might watch episode 17 when that comes on though, since Tenchi and the gang show up.

The police genre pretty big in the 90s, and that’s definitely where the concept of the Galaxy Police came from. It could still work nowadays though, I think. :)
Through BehindTheVoiceActors, I recently sent a friend request to Ellen Gerstell (the original Mihoshi), and to my surprise, she accepted! I guess it is possible to get in touch with her.

    https://www.facebook.com/ellen.gerstell?ref=ts&fref=ts

I also sent one to Sherry Lynn, but she has yet to respond. (EDIT: She did accept!)

The second Mihoshi, Rebecca Forstadt, is also really easy to get in contact with if you do it through her website. I did a pretty lengthy interview with her for my senior project (though more about the business of acting, not much about anime) http://www.rebeccaforstadt.com

Wendee Lee’s pretty easy to get in touch with. She actually does respond to her fanmail through her website: http://www.wendeelee.com/

Other than that, I’m also Facebook friends with Petrea Burchard, who’s really awesome to her fans.

I’d LOVE to get in contact with Jennifer Darling and Kate T Vogt, both of which seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

    Welcome PurpleWarrior13.

Yes,as Zinv said don’t forget to take a look at Dual as well. 😎

Every now and then I lurk around the Sailor Moon Forum.I’ve been pondering joining it on and off since

Sailor Moon is my #2 favorite Magic Girl series after Wedding Peach.Big Sailor Mercury fan here.

Also ordered the manga boxset #1 from Rightstuf.

Anyways I digress since this is a Tenchi Forum. :sign:

Have you read any of the Tenchi manga?

I am a fan of magical girl shows like Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew. My favorite character from SM is probably Rei/Sailor Mars, who does look quite a bit like Kiyone!

I unfortunately haven’t read any of the manga, but my school library has a couple Tenchi books. I might check them out soon! :D

Once again, thank you all for the awesome welcome!
