    @Chuck: I’ve been slowly hunting the manga down, I have V7 of No Need For Tenchi and V1-9 of All-New Tenchi Muyo, so yeah still working on my Tenchi Manga collection…. If only VIZ was better at keeping their older titles in print. Tenchi Manga why you OOP!?

    But yeah, glad I found this thread, seems like this place will be a lot easier to come and unwind then some of the other anime forums out there these days.

    Yeah it’s really a shame cause there’s so many goodies locked away in them that most English speaking fans will never see… Well, I know that a few other members here have quite a collection of these and other Japanese resources so we do our best to share all that cool, otherwise inaccessable stuff with the fandom :D

    Yeah i’ve been looking for this baby for years, but I never use Ebay (too shady imo) so its taken me quite awhile, found some small shop on a make your own store type site, was reluctant at first but it seemed reliable enough and I actually got my USPS confirmation pretty quickly after I placed the order, with any luckk I should have the book by this weekend or the 17th at the very latest.

    Man, its a shame these character books were never localized, I would loved to have seen them in english.

    I love Lupin III! I haven’t seen Case Closed or Detective Conan though. Are they similar to Lupin II?

    Case Closed is Detective Conan’s U.S. Title, it came out back when companies still liked to change names XD.

    But ahh yeah, both Conan & Lupin III were/are made by TMS. Detective Conan AKA Case Closed here in the states is about a teenage detective that gets drugged while following some shady men, but instead of the drug killing him it shrinks hi down to the size of a kid, so basically, we have a series about a little kid solving murders, arson, etc. Which is pretty fun overall imo. Sadly Funimation couldn’t get the anime to work here so they only dubbed about 1/6th of it and 6 out of 15 movies. Thankfully VIZ has had better luck with the manga and Volumes 1-43 are available stateside and a new volume comes out quarterly!

    But yeah, its a fun series, there was even a special not to long ago where Conan & Lupin III meet one another, sadly it has never been brought stateside… dag nab it Funi…let go of Conan’s license already so Discotek can save it like they did with Lupin III!!!!

    I personally think Case Closed/Detective Conan & Lupin III deserve more love in the states, both great series that got pretty rough treatment stateside.

    Oh well at least VIZ has had better luck with the Conan Manga so far then Funi did the anime *knock on wood*

    And for newer series, Tatami Galaxy needs a whole Bucket of love! Still sad Funi streamed it but never gave it a physical release, i’d kill to have a nice fancy Tatami Galaxy Blu-ray with a nice english dub. Sigh…oh well.

    I am still so dissapoint these two never got their own spin-off series, D*** you Sasami, stealing all the Spin-off’s with your Magical Girl fluff and what not. 👿

    IMO these two are the best part of Tenchi Universe, series wouldn’t be nearly as fun or funny without them!

    And man these two really need more AMV’s so hard to find a good MihoKiyo vid online.

    I got lucky last summer and found a used copy of Photon at my local video store for only $14.49 I have watched it about half a dozen times sense then. Something about it, just amuses me.

    Also I suggest Earth adapt the courtship ritual seen in Photon, merely by marking the same thing on you and another person that shall automagically make you married! Much cheaper then a wedding. 😆 :P

    Honeslty i’m not that picky when it comes to dubs, but I will admit the lack of variety in Funimation dubs does get to me at times, its like they use the same 6 or so VA’s over & over for the lead roles in the anime they acquire. Overall I just want a nice variety of voices like we had in the old Tenchi shows, heck even Funi’s dub of GXP had some fun voices in there. But yeah as long as they give it a solid dub, and at least attempt some variety in the cast i’ll be satisfied.

    And yes glad to be around fellow Tenchi fans, seems were getting harder and harder to find these days, but then again aside from DBZ, fans of older anime in general are becoming rarer & rarer sadly. 😥
