    In answer to your question, yes, via OVA 3 it is revealed that Tenchi is what the Chousin were looking for (which means they’re neither omnipotent nor omniscient, unless the technicality of dimensions is taken into consideration which still by definition would not be all knowing or all powerful if there is anything beyond their scope). I’m pretty sure “Tenchi-kami” kind of followed soon after, a moniker quickly given unto Tenchi via fans but it’s accurate: Kami=Tenchi, Tenchi=Kami, the source of Tenchi’s LHW all along (even though Z somehow ends up with his own through other means).

    This really came out of left field, but when I consider all the news on the Negishi front–plans for TMiL 3, a special theatrical screening of TMiL (yup, it seems it’s going to actually be a thing, complete with lucky contestants getting free admission from a select few Blu-ray boxes of Ai) during which an announcement for future plans may follow from Negishi himself who will be in attendance–I guess it’s just one more thing to add to the pile of stuff to get seriously hyped about.

    What does he plan to do? An alternate ending? A different one altogether to help set the stage for TMiL 3? Only time will tell!

    According to her, she created Kagato’s flagship the Souja, and on top of that actually made a “flower pot,” shall we say, for Ayeka’s tree Ryu-Oh.

    Her inventions across other continuities are probably too many to count, because even if we haven’t seen or heard mention of one on-screen, if you can name it she’s probably tinkered with it.

    But I agree, so much love for the ‘ego boosters’ (I also love how Ai threw those in there, from Universe). ‘Cuz if you’re going to be the universe’s greatest genius inventor without them, it’s like…what’s the point? 8-)

    Mecha Washu is a favorite of mine, precisely because it went completely awry.

    No villain in any Tenchi series even comes close to the level of dread, sliminess, and humor that is packaged in one Katsuhiko Jinnai.

    And yet somehow, his sister Nanami Jinnai is just a doll! (err, I mean, in some people’s opinions…what?!)

    Photon‘s character Keyne (don’t remember if I’m spelling that right) is imo an interesting blending (design, personality-wise, to a lesser extent) of Ayeka and Ryoko. How could you not root for her? (Though, if Aun is your competition, maybe that’s little more than a straw man tactic hee hee.)

    The “Bans” refer more or less to a series by Kajishima, and are the continuation after the OVA. Certain ones are named to reflect which storyline they’re focused on (ex. Tenchi bans are for main cast, GXP for the GP, Sekishi for Geminar).

    Being doujins, they are very brief in nature, so you’re seeing all there is to see even if it seems really short or nothing really happens (they’re very slice of life, and as you’re likely familiar with, are often more or less pornographic in nature, so it’s just fan service).
