Great writeup, JG. I guess Zinv is just taking after his “owner” like pets would do and acts accordingly in the interest of the owner.

It’s certainly interesting. It just doesn’t look like a science and research ship disregarding whether it’s armed or not. It’s more like a badass battle carrier.
Like everyone, you just fell into the warship mindset when designing it.
My tip for a the rule of thumb is to have it look more than 50% as for what it’s been declared or classified.
I got a bunch of designs on science and research ships I could post for reference but the old drawing notebooks are all locked up in a distant store house.
I’m more interested in your animal characters, though.

So far all the important story/character & relationship details are there. I haven’t done a close comparison so there might be things missing. I’m not quite satisfied with the 3d CG, it’s just not dynamic as a drawn animation.
Episode 2 will be airing about 6:00 a.m. ET on Niconico. If you haven’t registered yet do it now.

Well, Crystal is a major graphical improvement compared to the classic but it’s typical classic art(istry) don’t expect movie quality (except for flashbacks). Character art is closer to the manga and there are 3D CG for transformation & OP. Story wise it seems a bit more compact but can’t say for sure until I have seen the 3rd episode. - July 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Sword Art Onlne II is online now! So far it’s just intro into the Gun World.
If you miss episode 3 this week you gonna regret it!

Well, now it’s british TV show invasion. Does that mean a media invasion every 50 years? - February 4, 2014 at 9:22 PM

Samurai Head Hunters BBC’s Samurai history documentary is good but this british documentary is in a league of it’s own. To sum it up it’s about the dark secret of the trade. If you are looking for fighting techniques, strategy, and tactics this is not it. It does go into the warrior’s handbook, though. And it’s not about history either…not a single word on the most important decision in Japan’s history. The example story takes place just before the Tokugawa shogunate. This is definitely a must see episode but be warned it’s uncensored truth.
The Princess and the Pilot / Toaru Hikūshi e no Tsuioku
Because of the english name was different I didn’t realized “The Pilot’s Love Song /Toaru Hikūshi e no Koiuta” was related. I saw the novel a while back but did not know it was made into a movie. There are two other series in this universe. Imho better than Pilot’s Love Song.
The story is typical boys meets girl or rather street boy meets princess. The interesting part is the world itself. Sadly, the movie does not go into the details of the world. It’s worth watching but may not be a keeper for everyone. The actions are alright, but inaccurate. I doubt the water fuel technology is realistic even in a hundred years.
