Pack it up everyone, word got out.

I absolutely agree. I love to hate her, and she adds that “x” ingredient; it would be a comparatively dull experience without her.

Revised: After discussing with the author, I re-approached this chapter and did all I could to condense it in such a fashion so as to not feel condensed and, most important, to have the cliffhanger ending of Tenchi smoochin’ Ryoko…you should know this already if you’re reading this, btw.In order to do this, I cut out only one significant scene: Washu interacting with Sasami in the kitchen. It pained me to do so, but if we’re talking Tenchi OVA-length (standard, not Episode 7), it had to be done. Another reason I felt this one could go was (as cruel as this may sound) an exercise I’ve been trying to do with my own works, a lesson which was hammered into my head during my time in school:
every scene needs to have a purpose. Did I love it? Yes. Was it well written? Absolutely. But did we really, absolutely needit? When times are tough and you gotta’ make cuts, well…you may judge me at your own leisure. The other change I made was the time frame Tenchi was out cold: for lack of better words, it just didn’t “flow” for me; I couldn’t visualize such a construction on screen (written, it works fine). Originally, I had kept this, if breaking Chapter 2 up into two episodes (which would have been difficult as well), but keeping Chapter 2 virtually synonymous with Episode 2, I did what I thought best.
That should be everything, other than perhaps some very minor dialogue tweaks. I must say I’m enjoying reading through Shadows’ work and getting to interact with it in this hands-on way!
Yosho24 wrote:Yeah shes great as aun. Easily the best voice actor on the show
She’s just phenomenal, period. Though her performance is excellent, and her character admittedly provided an interesting blend for the show’s dynamics, at the risk of opening a can of worms did anybody
notdespise Aun? Or at least find her difficult to tolerate at all times? Maybe it’s just me, but it was hard for me to salvage her as a redeemable character in the end. And though the potential is arguably there to a degree, there really don’t seem to be Keyne vs. Aun camps* as there are for, say, Ryoko and Ayeka (maybe there was in the past, I don’t know, but I guess it’s to be expected largely in part to it being far less popular than Tenchi). I like this. Yes.
Thank you as well, Ryoko_sp (post as often or rarely as you like). What a coincidence that I was just discussing with some others here that I’m very interested in hearing more about the Spanish dub for Tenchi, and specifically which series aired in Spanish-speaking countries and what it was like watching it (if ever you want to say more, please do, but you don’t have to, of course).
tl;dr: Me gusta a estudiar español, y me encanta Tenchi, por eso Tenchi en español es muy interesante a mi.

I’ve shared my tale many times here, so I won’t hog the mic too long. Same song and dance for many, Toonami originally, dropped it (why?!), found it again via teh internetz. I’ll just list some people I have to thank for my return:
TLF, cyberdarkwolf, Akawoa, ryokofan21, everyone involved with early Tenchi casts (including first youtube presence at TrippFM), and to save time pretty much everyone involved with this forum (special thanks to a number in particular, “older” and “newer” I think you know who you are). Thank you all!
p.s. good thread idea, I like to hear others’ accounts and I’m sure there are those who wish to share.

Though I can’t remember all the details, now that I recall I think it would be befitting of our own Princess Ayeka. Oh yes, I had a girly drink (they taste good). This particular drink, the “purple nebula” looked something like this:

Boom, Ayeka.
