i’m sure most people here know of Paranoid by Black Sabbath, well listening to it today i got struck with a bolt of inspiration and so here is my reworking of the lyrics to suit a certain somebody whom i’m sure you can all guess.
Finished with Mihoshi ‘cause she really messes with my mind,
People think I’m insane because I am frowning all the time,
All day long I work for rent but Mihoshi always gets the sack,
Think I’ll lose my mind if she asks one more time for a snack.
Can you help me get away from her,
Oh yeah.
I need someone to help me with getting my career on track,
I can’t see that ever happening I feel like I’m about to crack,
Wreck my life and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry,
Happiness I never feel and love with Tenchi’s a big deal,
And so as you hear these words telling you now why I left,
I tell you not to follow me now I can stop feeling so bereft.
 what do you think, i knocked that out in quarter of an hour.
Good GOD man! I love Black Sabbath, and this–this is bloody brilliant!!!
I loves it! omgtearsplz
It fits rhythmically and lyrically with Paranoid, and the lyrics fit soooo well with–well, yeah if you can’t figure out who’s singing this…watch Universe

Well, just to save time, I’ll list the Tenchi cast! Most of them didn’t go on to do many other anime roles (or even VO roles, for that matter). Not to say at all that it wasn’t for lack of talent (it’s more like they all have very different interests, passions and talents, and in some cases voice acting was one of the last things they thought they’d get into, but it just happened to work out that way–not that they didn’t lovedoing it) they all gave top-notch performances for Tenchi Muyo!and as long as there’s fans like us, they will be remembered for it more-or-less forever (& in my opinion, that’s something pretty cool to be remembered for). And, not dissing on V.A’s who find consistent work (especially within anime circles) but the fact that, say, Petrea Burchard has only done Ryoko as an anime character makes the character Ryoko that much more distinct and unique, and the experience that much more enjoyable (imo). But I digress…
Jonny Yong Bosch and Jeff Nimoy (both from
Trigun) definitely come to mind in terms of personal favorites and voice talent I’ve not heard much in other anime, so I identify their voices so strongly with their respective characters. And, much like Tenchi Muyo!(maybe I’m just biased towards older series circa Toonami era) their performances made characters like Vash and Wolfwood unforgettable to me. Getting back to V.A’s that find work consistently…Chris freakin’ Sabat! Sure he gets alot of work with Funi (& in other circles) but 1: he’s good, so of course he’s going to get re-hired, & 2: as unmistakable as his voice is to hardcore fans, he really does have an incredible vocal range (Piccolo
andVegeta from DBZ, Alex Louis Armstrong from FMA) which lends itself to diversity amongst his roles (plus, he’s just a really reallycool guy!) Vic Mignogna–as I’ve heard previously via forum–love/hate him as you will (I have literally no idea what kind of a person he is in real life) but as a voice actor, it’s pretty hard to dispute his abilities. He also has an unmistakable voice (he can tweak it a bit) yet in spite of this (or perhaps because of it in his case) he doesn’t have trouble finding work, and every role I’ve ever seen him in, I’ve been nothing short of amazed.
Great, now I got myself to thinking of
Fullmetal Alchemist🙄 I’ll try to keep this brief for everyone’s sake.Kent Williams (awesome villain/announcer-type voice)
Ed Blaylock (pretty underrated imo, & I think he does/used to do radio before being discovered by Funi)
Caitlin Glass (she’s everywhere, & for good reason)
Ooh! Next tangent! A voice actor who’s nearly-literally been in
everyanime you’ve ever seen? A voice actor that was not only on the programs broadcasted via Toonami, but is universally recognized as the voice of Toonami…of course I’m talking about… Steve Blum!!!
I won’t even attempt to list all the roles he’s done, but if you want to look for yourself, seriously…he’s been in
everything! His most recent roles I’ve enjoyed him in include the antagonist in Avatar: The Legend of Korraand reprising his role as Toonami Tom. I also admire him for playing a large role in personally directing fan-driven efforts via youtube and twitter to bring back Toonami; professionals will do their jobs professionally, but in Steve’s case–I think he wanted to board the Absolution and bring back Toonami just as much (if not more) than any of the fans. There’s my “short” list
😆 sorry I rambled (great idea for a thread!)here’s to hoping I’ll get to meet Steve Blum this year at NebrasKon!- September 2, 2012 at 1:21 AM

Have to agree with you there. All of their stories would be fascinating to listen to. Were it not for the fact that Petrea literally
justdid an interview for an anime website only months ago ( ) I would probably go about inviting her to do an official TenchiForum interviewhttp://tenchiforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=257 ” class=”bbcode_url”> http://tenchiforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=257 not to say that
can’thappen/be attempted at some point in the future, but I figured wait a bit since she just did this interview, and right around the same time she’s really been getting back into Tenchi fandom and getting in touch with fans (she’s been getting con guest requests left and right, and recently attended PMX convention) so she’s been busy. As far as the rest of the cast, I’m not really acquainted with any of them, so idk what they’ve really been up to* but who knows! TenchiForum today is more than I would have imagined a couple years ago, so…we’ll see
😉 *I guess on the note of Tenchi cast members doing other stuff other than voice over, I do know Matt K. Miller has been doing live-performance theatre as of late, and Petrea has really taken to writing (short stories, blogging) and is currently working on a novel.

Also has anyone thought of a group e-mail for those attending for us to contact each other and to know what to look for? I mean we don’t have to start now, but I think it could be fun to get to know everyone before meeting up. Of course you all probably know each other and are BFFz and I’m the odd one out. In which case, I’m FRIENDLY so I’ll manage ^,^
Hey Spokes! Long time no–hear
😆 Wonderful to hear you’ll be attending (wish I could). Also great to hear you’re willing to assist (certainly don’t have to be a mod, it’s better for people actually going to head up the organizational elements).A group email would be a good idea (dunno’ how one goes about that) or if there’s any way that con attendees want to swap emails, I think that would be a good idea. I think facebook you can make a group, & of course there’s TenchiForum official fb page:
http://www.facebook.com/TenchiForumhttp://www.facebook.com/TenchiForum” class=”bbcode_url”> There’s only a few of you actually going, & imo you’re all really nice & trusting & all that, but if using your personal fb profile is too revealing, that’s understandable. Perhaps with Google or Yahoo it would be possible to make a group email of sorts?
We’ll need to work on that. In the meantime, as I type this it is the 1st (where I’m at) so we should be watching this thread of Ohayocon’s forum site:
http://forums.ohayocon.org/index.php?showtopic=5521http://forums.ohayocon.org/index.php?showtopic=5521” class=”bbcode_url”> As I understand it (as I post this) registration should now technically be open, and they
shouldbe posting links/announcements to where/how one can actually go about doing this. Registering is our next BIG important step! Again, I don’t know what the format of the registration applications entails, but when the time comes I’d be more than happy to assist in writing up our application (if you want my help and it says ‘now open’ and I’m not around, come find me! pm etc.) Side note: anyone registered to post on Ohayocon’s forum? If we don’t see anything announced within a couple of days, may be to our benefit to post a reply and ask ‘what’s goin on?’ that kind of thing.
So for now, be vigilant checking Ohayocon’s forum! Thanks Spokes & everyone else working on making this happen.

This is a good thread! (like “ova4”, “ova3”, & “who could replace who” threads combined!) 😎 Everything already listed by you two are valid points that I agree with myself:
I’ll try not to rant, but my opinion(s) regarding ova3:
Didn’t like favoritism showed to new characters instead of focusing primarily on main cast,
Didn’t care too much for the animation style (alot of features seemed too exaggerated)
&, of course…replacing Petrea as Ryoko wtfusayplz that is unforgivable (and you’re right, it’s not Mona’s fault, it’s whoever cast her)
Thorn wrote:I agree, it’s like Tenchi and the gang took a trip to South Park and Washu did an experiment that permanently switched Ryoko’s voice with Kyle’s mom’s.
exactly, Tenchi in Southpark…but not in a cool way like the totally kew “South Muyo” mash-up vids

^I’d do it! (if no one else wants to) sounds fun! Though, idk it might sound ‘cooler’ with a British accent (going with the Total Biscuit vibe) ooh, maybe I’ll try a British accent! jk…or am I?????
Do you want to be the one to actually do the video editing the, Greg? (it’s your project, after all)
Also, silly question, but
can(for lack of better word) a “lore” video done by others other than user ‘LORE’ ? Like, is that youtube kosher? - August 30, 2012 at 9:46 PM

Lighthawk93 wrote:Thank you everyone for you answers and for the warm welcomes I recieved from you, I greatly appreciate it. I am brand new to the forum world, so this is the first time I have joined one. I am a suscriber to tenchiforum on youtube and check up on what is new in the world of tenchi. Probabley like every one here I grew up watching toonami and loved it. When the tenchi series came to America through toonami i was hooked from the very beginning and watched every episode since. I would like to know more about this website since I am new and would like to hear what you have to say, as well as discuss what all we liked and didn’t like about this great show( which also happens to be my favorite by the way). Again, thank you very much.
Good ol’ Toonami! Same song-and-dance for me getting into Tenchi Muyo, & it is absolutely my favorite anime as well.
How interesting and nice to hear that you want to know a bit about us as a forum and a site. Here’s a concise ‘mission statement’ of ours to hopefully help give you the basic rundown:
http://tenchiforum.com/v3.0/aboutus.html ” class=”bbcode_url”> http://tenchiforum.com/v3.0/aboutus.html But very basically, as you know, we’re a site dedicated to all things related to Tenchi! (& its related series) and act as a place to talk about aspects of the show with like-minded people and fellow fans. As far as history goes, although TenchiForum is comprised of many contributing and hard-working, knowledgeable fans, TenchiForum was started by one bold Tenchifan–& he is still among us today as the hard-working Administrator of the board: Dagon123.
Since its inception (I don’t know exact dates, but it’s been a few years) with alot of networking and hard work, Dagon created a (more like “the” nowadays) hub for Tenchi fans from every corner of the fandom universe: artists, fanfic writers, former administration from other sites, bloggers…you name it, if they’re a presence in Tenchi fandom, Dagon’s probably met them at one point or another.
We are entirely fan-run, meaning no official affiliation with Funimation or anyone “big” like that (though we’re always more than happy to point people to ‘support the official releases’ and promote their merchandise for them)
…you’re welcome btw, Funi! hongkongplz
Well, that’s the gist of it. If you have any more questions about anything, you can always post or pm (private message) Dagon, one of the moderators (myself or mittens) or a support team member (like chuck) and they can answer your questions or point you in the right direction.
As far as posting, since you’re new to forums (I was too before TenchiForum!): it’s wonderful to see your fervor for wanting to talk about Tenchi–it’s what lead all of us here–and you’ve definitely come to the right place. Any topic at all you can possibly think of can be discussed; if you can, try and look through the various threads to see if there is a topic already started that matches whatever it is you’d like to talk about (to save space, be organized, etc.) but if there isn’t a topic started already for something you’d like to discuss, go ahead and start your own thread! (we’ve tried to delegate into sections such as “Tenchi Muyo” and “Chit Chat”–for non-Tenchi topics–for organizational purposes, so try to post your topic in the appropriate thread, but it’s completely ok if you’re not sure where something would best fit…post away & we can always tidy up later! We’re just happy people want to talk about this wonderful anime.
