As well as other near dead ones: Master of Mosquiton; Urusei Yatsura, 3×3 Eyes
Maybe it’s his simple art style, but I never really liked anything by Mitsuru Adachi.
Considering how series come and go, Urusei Yatsura is one of the few which has basically been immortalized by Japan. Albeit, it’s more about Lum’s marketability, which is directed more to girls than the series shōnen roots. As for the United States, well it’s old. From the decreasing familiarity and ultimately popularity of InuYasha today, it’s like how many people talked about Urusei Yatsura when InuYasha was big (circa 2003). Funny, Ranma actually did reasonably well in the U. S. along InuYasha despite being a total flop in Japan.
Nevertheless, I’m seeing some sort of larger interest in older anime titles nowadays, as newer ones pumped out tend to be as sucky as most of today’s Western animation. So maybe a lot of aforementioned “gems” will be popular again.

Contrary to his series, I can’t say he’s aged too well for somebody just over fifty. I can sort of see why he may have wanted to lay low for so long. Also, animanga artists tend not to be charismatic demigods who divide seas when they come to a convention. - December 28, 2012 at 9:51 PM

I never liked the Hasegawa continuity as a whole, but Queen Seiran specifically is a worthy antagonist to succeed Kagato and maybe Doctor Clay. At one point, weren’t you seriously considering an storyline adaptation to the SNES game? - December 11, 2012 at 11:08 PM

LOL, I was at B&N yesterday. If I had gone today, I could have got the final issue for old time’s sake. I like how they paid homage to the first issue from the 80s, especially since New Super Mario Bros. U looks somewhat enjoyable. I’m really not surprised Nintendo Power died. PlayStation’s semi-official magazine, also published by Future, ended earlier this year, and I’ll bet Xbox’s will follow suit. From my personal point of view, Nintendo Power has pretty much been in decline for over five years now, and I’m glad they finally put-down the crippled horse during these oh-so-depressing times.
Also, does anybody recall the promotions they used to give out if you subscribed via a slip of paper which came with certain games? I remember a Nintendo 64-branded watch and some disgusting-looking canned food. Nowadays, they give out promos on Club Nintendo when you register hardware and certain games. I had been a member when it called “NSider” since early-2004, and have all my hardware and games registered from my original Gameboy Advance to Pokémon Black Version 2. Too bad I didn’t get anything for my dedication from all the earlier stuff…
NSider was actually an offshoot of Nintendo Power with its own forums. LOL, I had tens of thousands of posts on there until it was stopped in 2007. Honestly, I’m kind of glad they got rid of it, so I have nothing to remind me of my past teenage stupidity.
So long, tiny promotional posters that were impossible to properly tear out of the magazine.

Umm, Sinatra’s version was a cover, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since it’s the most universally recognized version.
Anyways, outros… Not exactly an original choice, but I’ve always enjoyed the seventh ending theme for UY, “Open Invitation.” It reminds me of DeBarge’s “Rhythm of the Night,” but actually predates it by several months (and is much less annoying). Also, the fact that most of it is in English reminds me of

😆 From what I read at the Animenation Blog yesterday it will be the edited Enlgish language dub with
the Spanish dub.The main reason for this is that they say that the lip synching on the original Japanese
unedited version wasn’t too good.
Come again?
